What This Role Is… As a Receiving Associate, the primary function of this position is to receive furniture into the distribution center efficiently with no damages. The Receiving Associate is also responsible for attaching labels to products, verifying SKUs and product information to ensure bar code accuracy, and reduce inventory variances. What This Role Is…

As a Receiving Associate, the primary function of this position is to receive furniture into the distribution center efficiently with no damages. The Receiving Associate is also responsible for attaching labels to products, verifying SKUs and product information to ensure bar code accuracy, and reduce inventory variances. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Operations Department at CITY Furniture.

Reports To:      Operations Manager 

Pay Rate:  $17.75/hr

 

Compensation: This Receiving Associate role in Tamarac, FL starts with a base hourly rate of $17.75, with opportunities to advance up to $20.50 through tenure-based increases. The compensation is complemented by an extensive benefits package.

 

What You’ll Do…

As a Receiving Associate, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Unload products utilizing proper material handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages and prevent personal injury 
  • Attach labels to products and verify SKUs and product information to ensure bar code accuracy and reduce inventory variances 
  • Verify purchase orders to confirm accuracy of product received 
  • Examine product for damages, notifies Supervisors of damaged products, documents reasons for damages 
  • Operate order pickers and tuggers in a safe manner 
  • Stage products in accurate zones and utilizes proper handling techniques to minimize damages

What’s Required…

  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test, background check, and physical ability test
  • Education & Work Experience:
    • No High School diploma required
    • Previous warehouse/distribution center experience preferred but not required.
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Full-Time 40 Hours per week, must be available between the hours of 6:30AM - 6:00PM
    • Includes weekends
    • 0% of Travel
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Lifting up to 75lbs+, working at high heights, bending, prolonged standing and walking
  • Technology Requirements:
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
    • Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • WMS – High Jump (preferred but not required)
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • No certifications required
