Position Description As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. In addition, you will perform all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and a quality work environment as directed Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty. Responsibilities: Reports to work well groomed, in a clean and proper uniform, and at all times practices good personal hygiene. Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness. The Cook is responsible for the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products. The Cook pays special attention to speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications. Food Production: Prepares Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking products, according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures. Grills all items according to Golden Corral standards to ensure quality. Ensures that every fried product is always fresh and hot. If the Buffet Attendant is unavailable, the Cook restocks the items at the Display Cooking Station. If the Carver is unavailable, assists guests with carved meat options. Complete use and following of the buffet production system to insure quality and shelf life compliance. Operational Excellence: Maintains the correct temperature of all products during cooking, holding and serving. Uses the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to maintain an inventory of all hot cook products. Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases. Understand use of check-stand equipment (register, scanner, scale, belts) and its efficient operation. Responsible for front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand (newspapers, periodicals, candy, etc.). Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLU's; report errors in pricing or signage. Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations. Communicate the Company programs (i.e., loyalty program, scans, etc.), in-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store. Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling (i.e., damaged/spoiled products), the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, etc. Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards. May be responsible to assist with stocking items. Position Description

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. In addition, you will perform all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and a quality work environment as directed Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to work well groomed, in a clean and proper uniform, and at all times practices good personal hygiene.
  • Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen line equipment, plus preparation and storage areas.
  • Stocks and rotates products on cooking line.
  • Has sufficient knowledge of cooking stations, menu items and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, cooking time and performance standards.
  • Cooks and prepares menu items according to guest request within company standards and following food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness.
  • Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Communicates with the Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/services deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service taught through in-house training
  • Must be able to communicate clearly

Physical Requirements / Environment / Work Conditions:

  • Must have high level of mobility/flexibility
  • Must be able to work irregular hours under heavy stress/pressure during peak times
  • Must possess high level of coordination
  • Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
  • Must be able to fit through an opening 30" wide
  • Requires frequent reaching, bending, pushing and pulling
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold and odors
  • Requires continual standing and walking
