Lead, support, and delegate tasks to multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout all project lifecycle stages. Experience managing complex development projects from inception through fielding / sustainment transition. 3+ years of experience with aircraft modifications, upgrades, or retrofit projects. Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally. Preferred Skills / Qualifications Previous management experience. Boeing Commercial Services (BGS-C) is seeking two experienced leaders to join the Modification Proposal and Delivery Engineering organization in Long Beach, California:

  • Proposal Board Engineering Manager
  • Modification Support Engineering Manager

The Proposal Board Engineering team is a multifunctional team responsible for developing the technical basis of estimates (flow/hours/equipment list) for aircraft configuration modification proposals.

The Modification Support Engineering team is multifunctional (including liaison) team responsible for home and on-site support of Service Bulletin implementation during aircraft modifications.

Both roles will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary Engineering teams that support various BGS-C business units, including Interiors, Connectivity/VIP, Avionics/AP&S, and Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The ideal candidates will be strong leaders who excel at cross-functional collaboration and can navigate organizational boundaries effectively. They will leverage strong problem-solving skills, data-driven analysis, and strategic decision-making to deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment. This role demands proactive identification of opportunities beyond current practices, strong relationship-building, clear communication at all levels, and agile thinking to drive the success of the Modifications business.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The position requires a leader that rapidly understands complex technical concepts across multiple engineering disciplines, a problem solver who can analyze and organize complex technical problems into actionable execution plans, and a leader who can build consensus, deliver results, and demonstrate beginning to end accountability.
  • Lead, support, and delegate tasks to multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout all project lifecycle stages.
  • Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data to develop well-informed conclusions and recommendations.
  • Support Modifications strategies for all Mods businesses units: Interiors, Connectivity/VIP, Avionics/AP&S, and BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter).
  • Manage budget, quality, schedule, and safety activities while driving process improvements aligned with program priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with peer managers to address cross-team support, resolve critical issues, and achieve program goals.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience.
  • Experience managing complex development projects from inception through fielding / sustainment transition.
  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft modifications, upgrades, or retrofit projects.
  • Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Previous management experience.
  • Experience leading technical teams or complex programs with successful outcome.
  • Worked on proposals for new business.
  • Experience working as a Liaison Engineer.
  • Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management).
