Job Description

Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven technical specialist to lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of engineering and design processes across PSDS. This role owns the Info Book and ensures that design requirements, standards, and processes are consistently defined, updated, and deployed to support high-quality engineering execution.

In addition to process stewardship, this position collaborates closely with designers, DREs, Technical Specialists, and partner organizations to develop new tools, improve workflow efficiency, and prevent PRTS-related issues. The role requires strong systems thinking, deep understanding of harness design practices, and the ability to translate lessons learned into actionable process enhancements.

What You'll Do

Process Ownership and Development

  • Own and maintain the PSDS Info Book, including design requirements, process standards, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead updates driven by new technologies, lessons learned, emerging risks, and cross-functional feedback.
  • Develop templates, checklists, and standard work that strengthen design quality and reduce variation.
  • Ensure alignment between design execution, engineering requirements, and program deliverable expectations.

Tool & Method Improvement

  • Partner with Technical Specialists and engineering teams to identify process gaps and tool needs.
  • Lead the development and rollout of new tools that improve design efficiency, requirement traceability, and PRTS prevention.
  • Support digital workflow enhancements and data-driven methods that increase visibility and reduce manual effort.

Quality, Prevention & Knowledge Management

  • Translate issues, recurring PRTS drivers, and lessons learned into preventive process updates.
  • Integrate quality feedback loops into design standards and Info Book content.
  • Maintain a structured approach to capturing and deploying knowledge across programs.
  • Develop training materials and provide coaching to designers and engineers on new or updated processes.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of experience in wiring harness engineering, electrical systems design, or relevant product development roles.
  • Strong understanding of harness design methods, release processes, and engineering deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience with process ownership, documentation, or standard work development.
  • Ability to evaluate complex issues, identify root causes, and convert findings into process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and leadership levels.
  • Experience with digital engineering tools, requirement management, or workflow systems preferred.
