Stripe, Inc.South San Francisco HQ, NY
Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team The Global Partner Engineering and Operations (PE&O) team is a critical component of Stripe's broader Global Partnerships organization and a cornerstone of our success. We are responsible for managing the technical and operational aspects of new and existing strategic product partnerships and programs. Positioned at the intersection of product, engineering, and partnerships, we serve as a vital link that fosters seamless collaboration, which is essential for Stripe's rapid growth trajectory. The PE&O team comprises a hybrid mix of business and technical professionals focused on operational execution with financial ecosystem partners. We ensure smooth technical onboarding and implementation with partners while managing recurring KTLO (Keep-The-Lights-On) operations and monitoring stringent quality and performance targets. Our team drives global, partner-agnostic programs and initiatives to address broad ecosystem challenges and builds technical solutions and tools that enhance operational efficiency and scalability. As domain experts aligned with specific Stripe products (such as Stripe Payments, Stripe Tax, and Stripe Billing), Partner Engineers play a key role in scoping new partner opportunities and recruiting new partners to adopt the latest Stripe platforms. Our dynamic and versatile team takes on a variety of responsibilities daily, including driving alignment and coordination among cross-functional teams and partners, analyzing insights and trends from our data to inform decision-making, and developing innovative tools and processes to scale our impact. The partnerships we cultivate are instrumental-they significantly influence Stripe's ecosystem, and the products born from these collaborations touch millions of users worldwide. What you'll do As an Operational Excellence Partner Engineer within the Global Partner Engineering and Operations (PE&O) team, you will be a key driver in optimizing the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our technical partnerships and programs. This role is focused on identifying operational bottlenecks and areas for improvement across our partner lifecycle and internal workflows. You will achieve this by leveraging data and analytics to gain deep visibility into operational performance, health, and trends. Furthermore, you will be responsible for designing and building the essential tooling and automation solutions needed to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and proactively address operational challenges. Your contributions will directly enhance the PE&O team's ability to operate effectively at scale, ensuring a seamless experience for our partners and accelerating Stripe's mission to increase the GDP of the internet through robust and efficient technical operations. Responsibilities Data Analysis for Operational Insights: Leverage data analysis to monitor the health and performance of partner integrations and operational workflows, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Translate data-driven insights into concrete operational recommendations and requirements. Perform root cause analysis on operational issues using data, providing clear explanations and data-backed solutions. Operational Tooling & Automation Development: Design, build, and maintain tools and automation scripts to streamline manual operational processes within the Partner Engineering and Operations team. Develop solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and increase the scalability of our partner operations. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks across data collection, processing, and operational workflows. Data Infrastructure & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to integrate data from various operational and technical sources. Develop and optimize data models to support both analytical needs and operational monitoring. Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into key operational metrics and system health. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Work closely with the Partner Engineering and Operations team to understand their workflows, challenges, and tooling needs. Proactively identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in existing processes using data and observations. Champion best practices in operational monitoring, alerting, and incident response from a data and tooling perspective. Collaboration & Support: Serve as a key technical resource for the team, providing expertise in data, automation, and operational tooling. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to advocate for operational needs and integrate tooling solutions where necessary. Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering, preferably in technical operations support. Strong SQL proficiency for data manipulation and analysis. Ability to develop tools or automate processes using programming languages (e.g., Python, Go). Experience with data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and data modeling. Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating dashboards and reports. Skilled in identifying and troubleshooting technical issues through data analysis. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Partner Engineering, Technical Operations, or similar roles. Familiarity with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud). Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow). Understanding of API integrations and basic application development. Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems, data governance, and the payments/fintech industry. Background in statistical analysis and systems thinking. Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live. Pay and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $208,300 - $312,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
