You will oversee the development and integration of cutting-edge OCR solutions, document processing workflows, and data extraction technologies to streamline and automate document-heavy business processes This is a hands-on leadership role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, UI/UX, and operations, while fostering innovation and technical excellence within your team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, experience with document management systems, and a strong understanding of OCR, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Core Responsibilities Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on problem-solving and accountability. Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of document management and OCR-based solutions. Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements, set priorities, and deliver solutions on time. Oversee the technical implementation of OCR/AI-based features and ensure system scalability, reliability, and security. Provide technical direction and architectural oversight for document management systems, OCR platforms, and data extraction technologies. Evaluate and implement the latest OCR technologies, including cloud-based services like AWS Textract and Azure Form Recognizer. Design and develop APIs, microservices, and integrations that support document workflows and ensure smooth interoperability with existing systems. Drive innovation by exploring and integrating advanced AI/ML techniques for improving OCR accuracy, document classification, and data extraction automation. Identify opportunities for automating document processing workflows to reduce manual intervention. Implement best practices in software development, including continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews. Optimize performance and scalability of existing document management and OCR systems. Partner with product teams, designers, and other stakeholders to define the roadmap and feature sets. Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and architectural decisions to senior management and other relevant teams. Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure smooth implementation of third-party OCR solutions. Key Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2-3 years in a leadership/managerial role. Strong background in document management systems, OCR technologies, and data extraction processes. Hands-on experience with OCR platforms such as AWS Textract, Microsoft Azure Form Recognizer, or other AI/ML-driven OCR solutions. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale software solutions. Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA). Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, javascript Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and developing cloud-native applications. Strong understanding of machine learning (ML) models and their applications in OCR and data extraction. Experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture patterns. Solid experience in event driven design paradigm using applications (Kafka, SQS, SNS etc.) Proficient in designing, building, and deploying microservices-based applications. Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead our team focused on document management systems and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies. You will oversee the development and integration of cutting-edge OCR solutions, document processing workflows, and data extraction technologies to streamline and automate document-heavy business processes

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, UI/UX, and operations, while fostering innovation and technical excellence within your team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, experience with document management systems, and a strong understanding of OCR, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on problem-solving and accountability.
  • Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of document management and OCR-based solutions.
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements, set priorities, and deliver solutions on time.
  • Oversee the technical implementation of OCR/AI-based features and ensure system scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Provide technical direction and architectural oversight for document management systems, OCR platforms, and data extraction technologies.
  • Evaluate and implement the latest OCR technologies, including cloud-based services like AWS Textract and Azure Form Recognizer.
  • Design and develop APIs, microservices, and integrations that support document workflows and ensure smooth interoperability with existing systems.
  • Drive innovation by exploring and integrating advanced AI/ML techniques for improving OCR accuracy, document classification, and data extraction automation.
  • Identify opportunities for automating document processing workflows to reduce manual intervention.
  • Implement best practices in software development, including continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Optimize performance and scalability of existing document management and OCR systems.
  • Partner with product teams, designers, and other stakeholders to define the roadmap and feature sets.
  • Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and architectural decisions to senior management and other relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure smooth implementation of third-party OCR solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2-3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
  • Strong background in document management systems, OCR technologies, and data extraction processes.
  • Hands-on experience with OCR platforms such as AWS Textract, Microsoft Azure Form Recognizer, or other AI/ML-driven OCR solutions.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale software solutions.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA).
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, javascript
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and developing cloud-native applications.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning (ML) models and their applications in OCR and data extraction.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture patterns.
  • Solid experience in event driven design paradigm using applications (Kafka, SQS, SNS etc.)
  • Proficient in designing, building, and deploying microservices-based applications.
