Technical responsibilities include: Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from requirements analysis and design to testing and deployment. Strong understanding of defense industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams. Experience with systems engineering, software development, and hardware integration in a defense context. Familiarity with Waterfall and/or Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of CAE's simulation platforms or similar technologies is a plus. Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years. CAE USA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of engineers in the design, development, and delivery of innovative simulation and training systems for defense applications. This role will oversee multidisciplinary engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on integrating cutting-edge technologies with existing legacy systems to ensure seamless functionality and enhanced performance. The Engineering Manager will drive high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery of solutions that meet the rigorous demands of our customers, while fostering innovation, driving technical excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support CAE's mission of enhancing mission readiness.

Technical responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from requirements analysis and design to testing and deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with defense industry standards, including ITAR, FAR, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Collaborate with program managers, product owners, and clients to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Interface with customers, including military and government stakeholders, to ensure solutions meet operational needs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or related field) or equivalent education and work experience
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in the defense or aerospace industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects, preferably in simulation, training systems, or defense technology.
  • Strong understanding of defense industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience with systems engineering, software development, and hardware integration in a defense context.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and/or Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of CAE's simulation platforms or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment.
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)
