The Developer, Application Engineering Intern, will be part of a small, collaborative team focused on delivering key functionality for one or more front-end applications. Throughout the internship, the individual will gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle - including design, development, and deployment. The intern will work under the guidance of a seasoned Senior Software Engineer or a Director of Engineering (in an individual contributor capacity), both of whom bring deep expertise in front-end and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the completion of project deliverables and is accountable for the development, quality assurance, and support of the solution they deliver

  • Follows business requirements, implements a set of specifications by coding, compiling and testing the application

  • Work closely with the development team and business analysts to ensure code quality, accuracy and correct business solutions have been developed

  • Develop unit test cases/criteria to verify all functionality is working correctly

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)

  • Working knowledge of C#, ReactJS

  • Exposure to configurable re-usable UI component development.

  • Knowledge of UX Design principles.

  • Familiarity with API development for front end (Backend for Frontend).

  • Familiarity with tools like Postman and Swagger.

  • Exposure to the Azure cloud computing environment, Visual Studio code

  • Familiarity with Azure GIT Repos and branching mechanism.

  • Familiarity with iterative development methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience with leading AI-assisted coding tools like Claude, Copilot, and related platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly

  • Financial Services industry knowledge

Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field

  • 1-2 years of programming experience through coursework, academic projects, or relevant hands-on experience

  • Strong academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
