Location : Milwaukee, WI (on-site) Co-Op Start : Fall 2025 Major Responsibilities: Analyze New Technologies : Assess new technologies, market components, and less complex products using basic analytical tools and methods to improve existing designs and expand product lines. Cost Reduction Programs : Assist in Material Cost Out and Simplification programs. Design Test Machines and Procedures : Help design test machines and procedures for nonstandard testing. Problem Solving : Support in solving routine problems with basic problem-solving skills. Product Development : Design and develop new products to meet customer needs. Routine Analysis Projects : Lead portions of routine analysis projects. Design Specification and Documentation : Specify basic design parameters, validate according to existing standards, and prepare required documentation. Ability to adjust to varying priorities and project lists. Preferred experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro-E, Solid Edge). The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will support product development through a variety of duties including mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, testing and documentation. The Mechanical Engineer Co-Op will work an estimated 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do…

  • Analyze assigned projects to develop strategies for completion including the establishment of plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and build test fixtures
  • Test and evaluate equipment to make or recommend design modifications
  • Provide assistance to manufacturing, and service personnel with troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Work "hands-on" with other engineering and shop personnel in equipment development.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to design products for potential market release (phrasing)
  • Support research and development of product innovation
  • Required to work cross functionally with other departments
  • Develop and present final project outcomes to peer and leadership groups

What You Need…

  • Candidate in Sophomore, Junior or Senior year
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • CAD solid modeling competency
  • Preferred analytical skills (FEA, CFD, Calcs)
