About the team and the role: As the Chief of Staff for the engineering team responsible for Advertising, Stores, and Recommendations, you will improve team success by crafting and operating simple, light-weight, and critical processes and programs across budgeting, staffing, execution, strategy, planning, and employee engagement. In addition, the role will be a key partner in driving cross-company alignment and synchronization with critical partners. What you will accomplish: Provide insights and data on staffing levels, headcount targets, and capacity allocation. About the team and the role:

As the Chief of Staff for the engineering team responsible for Advertising, Stores, and Recommendations, you will improve team success by crafting and operating simple, light-weight, and critical processes and programs across budgeting, staffing, execution, strategy, planning, and employee engagement. In addition, the role will be a key partner in driving cross-company alignment and synchronization with critical partners.

What you will accomplish:

  • Provide insights and data on staffing levels, headcount targets, and capacity allocation. Align with the leadership team, finance, recruiting, and the central planning team on staffing forecasts and make key decisions in approval processes.

  • Handle financial budget allocation and prioritization (third-party vendor, employee expense, infrastructure)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact to partners in Finance, HR, Recruiting, and Communications.

  • Lead the strategy and planning process and cadence

  • Produce key organization programming including all-hands, educational events, culture, and team recognition. Build content and demos for executive-level and external presentations that best demonstrate team vision and delivery.

  • Champion a cohesive team environment for executive staff by running staff meetings and leadership offsites, and aligning with operational leads in their domains.

  • Understand team engagement to generate new initiatives to further enable and empower the team.

  • Find opportunities and lead projects that will enable the organization to implement better and faster

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of industry experience including relevant experience in business operations or program management functions within a product or engineering organization

  • Skilled in running basic financial operations and reporting, experience handling contracts and leading budgeting processes

  • Self-directed and hands-on approach, with ability to initiate new efforts independently and make trade-offs against critical project timelines and priorities

  • Builds a strong internal and external network of personal relationships to identify issues and opportunities and provides constructive perspectives to others. Values inclusion and open to new points of view when developing solutions

  • Confirmed experience in commerce/ retail, consumer goods or internet services a plus

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$162,000 - $216,300

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
