The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company's first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter. Hermeus is seeking talented students to join our Test team in Atlanta for the Fall 2025 semester. The Test team is responsible for developing infrastructure to perform tests on fuel & hydraulic system components. The test team works with hardware owners to define testing requirements, design & implement test fixtures, and assist in data collection to inform and verify design decisions. This is a full-time paid internship that will last around 12-16 weeks (September - December). Responsibilities: Design test fixtures and interfaces. Perform analysis to determine target test points, instrumentation, and ensure sufficient test safety margins. Organize and run test design reviews with stakeholders in cross-functional teams Create manufacturing plans for test components/fixtures and work directly with manufacturing/build teams to monitor build progress and assist in resolving issues. Design and release flight-like hardware as necessary for test (including CAD and drawing creation) Minimum Requirements: Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects. Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program). Strong interest in testing. Strong understanding of engineering first principles. Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams. Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. GPA of 3.0 or above. $25 - $33 an hour The salary information provided is a general guideline only. What we need to see: Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field. 5+ years of hands-on validated proven experience in robotics development and/or simulation. Experience writing production codes in Python, ROS/ROS2, and proficiency with Linux. Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes. Familiarity with one or more 3D workflows and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender) or Robotics Simulation frameworks (e.g., NVIDIA PhysX and Isaac SIM, Gazebo, MuJoCo, etc.). Strong understanding of Robotics systems (kinematics, dynamics, perception, control). Experience with RL algorithms, standards such as OpenAI Gym, or DL frameworks such as PyTorch. Ability to communicate your ideas/code clearly through blog posts, GitHub, ppt. Enjoy working with multiple levels and teams across organizations (engineering/research, product, sales and marketing teams). Effective verbal/written communication, and technical presentation skills. Self-starter with a vision for growth, real passion for continuous learning and sharing findings across the team. Position Summary The Vice President of Engineering leads and oversees the Engineering Division to drive sustained market growth and maintain our position as a national solar industry leader. This role fosters strong relationships with Sales, Construction teams, and external customers to ensure continuous value-driven growth for the division. Providing both strategic and tactical leadership, the VP establishes departmental goals, objectives, plans, and policies. Additionally, they are responsible for managing the division's P&L and financial performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead engineering teams in product development and R&D for solar solutions. Manage P&L and collaborate on financial planning with accounting and finance teams. Develop and implement growth initiatives aligned with short- and long-term sales projections. Oversee SIOP planning to balance safety, speed, cost, and quality. Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team under a shared vision. Drive continuous improvement and optimize manufacturing processes. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Structural preferred). Experience: 10+ years in product engineering/R&D, 5+ years leading engineering teams, and 3+ years engineering experience in Solar Ground Mount racking systems. Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, continuous improvement, and technical proficiency with tools like CAD, Epicor, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite. Certifications: P.E. preferred. Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company's first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter.

Hermeus is seeking talented students to join our Test team in Atlanta for the Fall 2025 semester.

The Test team is responsible for developing infrastructure to perform tests on fuel & hydraulic system components. The test team works with hardware owners to define testing requirements, design & implement test fixtures, and assist in data collection to inform and verify design decisions.

This is a full-time paid internship that will last around 12-16 weeks (September - December).

Responsibilities:

  • Design test fixtures and interfaces.
  • Perform analysis to determine target test points, instrumentation, and ensure sufficient test safety margins.
  • Organize and run test design reviews with stakeholders in cross-functional teams
  • Create manufacturing plans for test components/fixtures and work directly with manufacturing/build teams to monitor build progress and assist in resolving issues.
  • Design and release flight-like hardware as necessary for test (including CAD and drawing creation)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
  • Strong interest in testing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

$25 - $33 an hour
