CMA is hiring an Inspector to work on civil engineering construction projects. The projects will be civil infrastructure including water and wastewater utilities, storm water, land development, roadway and transportation projects for both public and private sector clients. This role will require travel and coordination with professionals from other offices within Florida. A company vehicle will be provided. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision. Determine the acceptability of the day‐to‐day work performed by the contractor. Review and recommend the acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor, perform inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures and material testing, and verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures. Candidate must also be able to review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed. May be required to perform sampling and/or in‐place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in construction inspection for site related projects including water/sewer, roadway, stormwater, facility design, land development, etc. Four (4) years or more of site (roadway, water/sewer, stormwater) construction inspection experience is preferred. All candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record. Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management in place of noted experience and qualifications listed above. Proficiency with inspection related documentation including daily reporting and electronic correspondence is required. Summary of Position: The Support Engineer or Engineering Tech will support the Engineering and Operations teams by analyzing operations data to create engineering tools and an organized reporting structure for high-priority information. This position reports to the General Manager of the Northern Delaware Basin. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The following represents most of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies. As a Support Engineer or Engineering Tech, you will be responsible for: Designing and constructing high-impact corporate engineering tools. Developing and supporting the implementation of new processes. Executing design plans, timelines, volume forecasts, system hydraulics, and project economics for pipeline and reuse projects, as well as overseeing engineering of evaporation trials. Preparing capital expenditure estimates, schedule estimates, and economic justifications for projects, documenting results, and providing to production facilities and pipeline execution. Coordinating with procurement and field leadership in the creation and tracking of bid packages, material ordering, and creation, maintenance, and evolution of reports, project scheduling, data management, and process improvements. Exemplifying logistics standards and procedures, utilizing personal and departmental knowledge and resources as needed. Creating BOM/Material acquisition and assisting in the quoting process. Creating Drawings & P&IDs. Working closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure the accurate installation of equipment, data collection, and project management. CMA is hiring an Inspector to work on civil engineering construction projects. The projects will be civil infrastructure including water and wastewater utilities, storm water, land development, roadway and transportation projects for both public and private sector clients. This role will require travel and coordination with professionals from other offices within Florida. A company vehicle will be provided.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision.
  • Determine the acceptability of the day‐to‐day work performed by the contractor. Review and recommend the acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor, perform inspection of the contractor’s quality control procedures and material testing, and verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures.
  • Candidate must also be able to review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and measure quantities of materials placed. May be required to perform sampling and/or in‐place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in construction inspection for site related projects including water/sewer, roadway, stormwater, facility design, land development, etc. Four (4) years or more of site (roadway, water/sewer, stormwater) construction inspection experience is preferred.
  • All candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
  • Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management in place of noted experience and qualifications listed above.
  • Proficiency with inspection related documentation including daily reporting and electronic correspondence is required.
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (specifically Word and Excel)
  • Foreign language skills (Spanish) a plus
