The VP of AI Engineering and Applied Research will support the strategy, development, and delivery of advanced Generative AI capabilities across our product portfolio. This leader will have a critical role driving innovation in AI-powered customer-facing products, ensuring that solutions are production-ready, scalable, cost-optimized, and aligned with the highest standards for quality, safety, and performance. Partnering closely with the Head of the AI Platform Team, this role will champion the integration of AI capabilities into our platform, enabling seamless adoption across all products. Proven track record of delivering production-grade AI solutions in customer-facing products especially using LLMs. Strong understanding of production software engineering best practices, CI/CD, testing, observability, error handling, and security. Experience with cloud-based AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hyper-scaler AI platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI). Demonstrated ability to optimize AI model performance and costs for large-scale deployments especially LLMs. Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Who are we looking for?

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Group to achieve global goals for powder, flux, paste, chemicals, wire, preforms, polymers, TIMs and global projects within CI MOS framework. This includes tier meetings, monthly reports and regular meetings
  • Coordinate global activities for all products and process developments and manufacturing methods utilizing standardized project plans
  • Drive global cost reduction programs though the global coordinators and the individual manufacturing sites
  • Drive global process improvements programs to reduce cost, improve quality and increase customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for production/process scale up of new processes developed by R&D and then coordinate/manage the product/process qualification
  • Manage and coordinate Tech Transfers Globally for all MAES products as assigned.
  • Manage Global Engineering responsibility as it related to New Product Development of the preform business. This includes oversight of a team of engineers devoted to the development effort following NPD stage gate process
  • Coordinate and communicate best practice information to all global sites to achieve standardization.
  • Work closely with the MAES BU Supply Chain leaders to support them in achieving their goals for production, expansions and capital requirements.
  • Manage different global cultures and languages to ensure commonality of information.
  • Support management and coordination of global sourcing locations for raw materials and powder.
  • Interface with global marketing, global R&D, global operations, global finance, global HR, Global IT, regional sales, and local sites on a regular basis.
  • Ensure framework to keep engineering team updated on new manufacturing methods to improve processes
  • Actively engage team in the Divisional Continuous Improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  • Train sites in new best practices and new processes when needed

Who are You?
