Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineering) (Mid or Lead-Level) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including a Mid or Lead Level Product Review Engineer to join the C-17 Field Engineering and Technical Support (FETS) team at Ramstein Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. The selected individual will be required to deal directly with military customer personnel daily. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a different cultural environment. Candidates should also have previous experience working in an environment where flexibility is essential and prompt responses to ad-hoc customer requests is expected. Candidates must have good communication skills, both written and oral, and have experience working with minimal supervision. This is a Long-Term Assignment to Ramstein Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany fo r a minimum of 3 years and max of 5 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided. Ability to meet international assignment health requirements required. If accompanied, family must also meet international assignment health requirements. The incumbent will work at a U.S location until visa/relocation approvals or other international assignment contingencies are met. Relocation benefits from the base work location (or current living location) to the international location will be provided. This will also include repatriation benefits back to the U.S. Position Responsibilities: Verify that the customer logistics data management records received meet documented regulations and will coordinate with customers to resolve routine problems regarding data accuracy and data integrity. Transcribe the customer data into the appropriate data systems. These systems will include the US Air Force FMxC2 system, C-17 Standard Flight Data Recorder, and C-17 engine Quick Access Recorder repositories. Ensure data quality, maintain process records and files, keep accountability records and make final disposition of data, records and files. Respond to customer requests for a variety of pre-programmed and customized C-17 data reports extracted from the data systems, principally from the US Air Force FMxC2 system. Working knowledge of performing product data management and configuration status accounting tasks in support of a Department of Defense contracts. Working knowledge of the quality systems (Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS) and Aerospace Standard (AS91001). Works general direction. May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Proven experience in C-17 structures, avionics and flight controls, and/or aircraft is required. Familiarity with FETS processes and procedures. Acknowledged technical network within the C-17 engineering community in Long Beach and at C-17 Main Operating Bases (MOBs). Must be able to support a 24/7 on-call environment. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Ability to work rotating shifts. Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 9+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education. Ability to obtain C-17 Delegated Engineering Authority (DEA) IAW BPI-2299 in at least one category. Candidate must currently be working in a SJC of 6H6B or 6B1B with a job level of 3 or 4 currently. Demonstrated leadership skills in current assignment. Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role with strict deadlines. Prior experience utilizing the USAF FMxC2 data system is essential. Ex-Pat Information: Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country. Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable. Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineering) (Mid or Lead-Level)

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including a Mid or Lead Level Product Review Engineer to join the C-17 Field Engineering and Technical Support (FETS) team at Ramstein Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany.

The selected individual will be required to deal directly with military customer personnel daily. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a different cultural environment.

Candidates should also have previous experience working in an environment where flexibility is essential and prompt responses to ad-hoc customer requests is expected. Candidates must have good communication skills, both written and oral, and have experience working with minimal supervision.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to Ramstein Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany for a minimum of 3 years and max of 5 years.

Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.

Ability to meet international assignment health requirements required. If accompanied, family must also meet international assignment health requirements.

The incumbent will work at a U.S location until visa/relocation approvals or other international assignment contingencies are met. Relocation benefits from the base work location (or current living location) to the international location will be provided. This will also include repatriation benefits back to the U.S.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Verify that the customer logistics data management records received meet documented regulations and will coordinate with customers to resolve routine problems regarding data accuracy and data integrity.
  • Transcribe the customer data into the appropriate data systems. These systems will include the US Air Force FMxC2 system, C-17 Standard Flight Data Recorder, and C-17 engine Quick Access Recorder repositories.
  • Ensure data quality, maintain process records and files, keep accountability records and make final disposition of data, records and files.
  • Respond to customer requests for a variety of pre-programmed and customized C-17 data reports extracted from the data systems, principally from the US Air Force FMxC2 system. 
  • Working knowledge of performing product data management and configuration status accounting tasks in support of a Department of Defense contracts.
  • Working knowledge of the quality systems (Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS) and Aerospace Standard (AS91001).
  • Works general direction.
  • May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Proven experience in C-17 structures, avionics and flight controls, and/or aircraft is required.
  • Familiarity with FETS processes and procedures.
  • Acknowledged technical network within the C-17 engineering community in Long Beach and at C-17 Main Operating Bases (MOBs).
  • Must be able to support a 24/7 on-call environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education.
  • Ability to obtain C-17 Delegated Engineering Authority (DEA) IAW BPI-2299 in at least one category.
  • Candidate must currently be working in a SJC of 6H6B or 6B1B with a job level of 3 or 4 currently.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in current assignment.
  • Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced role with strict deadlines.
  • Prior experience utilizing the USAF FMxC2 data system is essential.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.
  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.
  • Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.
