You will set a high operational bar-automated, auditable, and secure by default-while enforcing strong governance, including no direct developer access to production. What You'll Do Platform Engineering & Operations Design, build, upgrade, and operate RHEL fleets and OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments and clusters. CI/CD, GitOps & Delivery Architect and operate the paved path: GitHub Actions → Artifactory → Argo CD. Build reusable GitHub Actions workflows and runners; manage artifact immutability, retention, and provenance. Reliability & SRE Practices Define and operationalize SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Improve deployment frequency and MTTR. Lead incident response and drive blameless post-mortems. Own DR objectives and testing cadence. Governance & Collaboration Enforce no-human-in-prod via RBAC, GitOps controls, and auditable break-glass procedures. Partner closely with Application Engineering, QA, Security, and Architecture. Leadership & Enablement Lead, mentor, and grow Platform/DevOps/SRE engineers. Set quarterly OKRs and platform roadmaps. Drive adoption through reference architectures and enablement. Qualifications Must-Have (Hands-On) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred. 10+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE leadership. Linux: Recent, production-grade RHEL administration and operations. Containers/Orchestration: Operating OpenShift (or enterprise Kubernetes) in production: cluster upgrades, operators, networking/ingress, quotas/limits, security contexts, multi-cluster promotion. GitOps & CD: Operating Argo CD in production (app-of-apps, sync waves/health, drift detection, secrets management; progressive delivery with Argo Rollouts/Flagger or equivalent). CI & Artifacts: Building/owning GitHub Actions pipelines (reusable workflows, runners) and managing Artifactory (images/charts, immutability, SBOM/attestation, provenance/signing). Virtualization: Designing/supporting VMware and/or Nutanix environments (HA clusters, templates, storage/network design, backup/restore). Ops & Governance: Demonstrated no-dev-in-prod controls, incident leadership, SLO/error-budget practice, and DR testing. Nice-to-Have AWS/EKS operations (VPC/subnets/NAT, IRSA/IAM, add-ons, KMS/Secrets Manager/SSM, cost guardrails). IaC at scale (Terraform/Ansible), OPA/Conftest, service mesh, Backstage developer portal. Observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK, Datadog/New Relic) and ITSM integration (ServiceNow/Jira). AI-assisted engineering (CodeQL, Copilot/ChatGPT) with guardrails. Leadership Skills: Strong people management and team-building capabilities. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to bridge technical and business objectives. Why Join Us? Lead mission-critical platform and DevOps initiatives for a globally deployed enterprise solution. Work with cutting-edge infrastructure and application technologies. Influence the future state architecture and operational excellence of our systems. Collaborate with talented cross-functional teams in a high-impact environment. Our unique approach to awarding equity grants allows our employees to be shareholders so they can benefit financially in the company's growth. Non-Competes Veeva has taken a strong stance against the use of non-compete agreements that can limit employee opportunities. We do not require our employees to sign non-compete agreements, and we have taken legal action to fight the unfair use of these agreements by other companies because we believe such agreements limit an employee's fundamental right to work where they choose. Job Description

Who is Flock?

Flock Safety is the leading safety technology platform, helping communities thrive by taking a proactive approach to crime prevention and security. Our hardware and software suite connects cities, law enforcement, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods in a nationwide public-private safety network. Trusted by over 5,000 communities, 4,500 law enforcement agencies, and 1,000 businesses, Flock delivers real-time intelligence while prioritizing privacy and responsible innovation.

We're a high-performance, low-ego team driven by urgency, collaboration, and bold thinking. Working at Flock means tackling big challenges, moving fast, and continuously improving. It's intense but deeply rewarding for those who want to make an impact.

With nearly $700M in venture funding and a $7.5B valuation, we're scaling intentionally and seeking top talent to help build the impossible. If you value teamwork, ownership, and solving tough problems, Flock could be the place for you.

Emerging Talent

We are seeking multiple Interns for Summer 2026! These are paid, in-person, 12 week internships based out of Atlanta, GA. Internship dates are May 18 - Aug 7, 2026.

At Flock, we believe emerging talent is the future of innovation. Our Emerging Talent Program gives early-career professionals the opportunity to make an immediate impact on real-world challenges while learning in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll work alongside experienced mentors, build skills that accelerate your career, and contribute directly to our mission of creating safer, thriving communities. From day one, you're treated like a full-time employee, with real projects, real responsibility, and real impact.

The Opportunity

Flock Safety is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience building connected hardware products in a fast-paced engineering environment. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineers to support the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems that power Flock's IoT devices. You'll contribute to real-world projects by assisting with circuit and PCB design, performing engineering analysis such as power budgets and signal integrity, supporting prototype bring-up and debugging, and participating in testing and validation of production hardware. The internship offers meaningful exposure to the full hardware development lifecycle, from component selection and schematic documentation to system-level troubleshooting, design reviews, and new product development discussions, providing practical experience that complements your academic learning.

The Skillset

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, digital/analog electronics, and signal processing.

  • Familiarity with PCB design and schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD).

  • Hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or IoT devices is a plus.

  • Experience with soldering, PCB rework, or hardware prototyping is a plus.

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to get hands-on with hardware.

Feeling uneasy that you haven't ticked every box? That's okay; we've felt that way too. Studies have shown women and minorities are less likely to apply unless they meet all qualifications. We encourage you to break the status quo and apply to roles that would make you excited to come to work every day.

Compensation

In this role, you'll receive an hourly rate of $30-35 USD. Interns are expected to work a full 40-hour week during the duration of their internship.

Location

This role is based in Atlanta, GA, where you'll join our dynamic team to collaborate in person and drive innovation. Candidates must reside in or relocate to Atlanta, GA, for this position.
