Software Engineering Senior Manager/Director Job Description As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing effective software solutions. You will collaborate with upper management to establish software requirements and lead both operational and technical projects. In this role, you will work independently with minimal supervision. The position demands excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, along with hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies. Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software that meets user needs and aligns with business goals. The primary focus of this role is equipment control within the semiconductor industry. You will manage a team of C#/C++ programmers utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, targeting Windows 10. The projects involve software high level control of robotic and other motion-related hardware. Furthermore, machine vision and machine learning technologies are being integrated into the system. Specific tasks will be carried out throughout the project lifecycle. The Manager will ensure that all requirements are clearly understood by the team, review and write requirement specifications, and facilitate team reviews of these specifications. They will oversee design and code reviews for each software change, ensuring that changes are tested both in software emulation and on hardware. The Manager will collaborate with the entire team, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, for system-level integration. Software Engineering Senior Manager/Director

Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing effective software solutions. You will collaborate with upper management to establish software requirements and lead both operational and technical projects. In this role, you will work independently with minimal supervision. The position demands excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, along with hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies. Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software that meets user needs and aligns with business goals.

The primary focus of this role is equipment control within the semiconductor industry. You will manage a team of C#/C++ programmers utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, targeting Windows 10. The projects involve software high level control of robotic and other motion-related hardware. Furthermore, machine vision and machine learning technologies are being integrated into the system. Specific tasks will be carried out throughout the project lifecycle.

The Manager will ensure that all requirements are clearly understood by the team, review and write requirement specifications, and facilitate team reviews of these specifications. They will oversee design and code reviews for each software change, ensuring that changes are tested both in software emulation and on hardware. The Manager will collaborate with the entire team, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, for system-level integration. They will ensure that features and fixes are documented for all software releases, delegate customer support issues to software engineers, and work with other engineers as needed. Additionally, the Manager will participate in team reviews of specifications, code, documentation, and test cases.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software development, scripting, and project management.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns.

  • Experience with multi-threading, network communication, and automation.

  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead small teams (6-15 engineers).
