Your responsibilities will include the management and coordination of the design, procurement, implementation, and commissioning phases of projects, including the commercial, financial, and technical success of projects ranging from $50K to $3.0M+. You will take a leadership role in developing project proposals and vetting project cost estimates. You will develop and communicate a clear understanding of the client's project goals and maintain the company's alignment to these goals, enabling your team to exceed client expectations and budgeted profitability. Candidates for consideration, must live within 1 hour of Los Angeles area. If not, candidates must be willing to travel up to 75% within the U.S. As a Project Manager, You Will: Lead Proposal Development- Participate in proposal scope, schedule, and cost estimates, as well as Project Management methodology and project pricing and structure. Prepare for a successful handoff from Business Development. Manage Client Communication- Ensure effective communication between the client, the project team, Business Development, and the management team at all phases of the project. Be effective at resolving scope, schedule and cost issues as they arise. Project Schedule and Plan- Develop the project labor resource plan and procurement plan to meet the client's schedule objective and project cash flow requirements. Drive Scope- Maintain firm control of scope and compliance with specifications and contract requirements. Ensure that scope is well defined and communicated, and proactively obtain any required Change Orders, develop additional scope opportunities which may serve the client's objective. Maintain Cost- Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency. Forecast monthly project costs avoiding cost overruns. Lead the Project Team- Lead the project team in achieving the project tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget. Work closely with the Operations group to ensure that the right resources are assigned to the project at the optimal time. Communicate project progress to the team and to the client and be an effective advocate for the project team. Identify project risks in advance and mobilize the necessary resources to mitigate risks. Present regular project activity and financial updates on projects to large audiences of customers and/or internal associates/management/Executives Become proficient in the extensive use of the E TECH GROUP PMO Methods, Tools and Process specific to project management standards Participate in the implementation of new project management tools that will be utilized across the enterprise Develop a strong level of understanding of E TECH GROUP's Project Management Life (PMLC) Cycle Stages. This position is directly assigned to the F-15 Airframe team in the F-15 Air Vehicle organization. Proficiency in the Earned Value Management system and the ability to estimate manpower and write technical sections of proposals are required in this position. Root Cause Corrective Action execution along with Risks, Issues, and Opportunity tracking to completion are major elements of this position. Familiarity with full size determinate assembly (FSDA) is a benefit. Position Responsibilities: Oversees F15 Forward Fuselage work statement, from new platform structure development through production, retrofit and sustainment operations. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes for the F-15 Forward Fuselage and Airframe Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) structures teams. Provide support to the F15 ASIP team, including USAF and foreign customer fleets. The ASIP team is responsible for detailed break-out FEMs, fail safe analysis and repairs for previously delivered aircraft. Provide production support for the F-15EX and future variants of the Forward Fuselage which was reconfigured as a complete model based Full Size Determinate Assembly (FSDA) in which 99% of the fastener holes are added in the detail part stage. Familiarity with FSDA is a benefit. Canopy, windshield and radome production are also supported, and are a conventional “drill on assembly” build. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, performs root cause corrective action and leads process improvements. Develop and maintain productive relationships and partnerships with direct reports, operations, domestic and foreign customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers and partners. Maintain accurate accounting of budget using Earned Value Management. Travel: Periodic domestic travel is anticipated to maintain technical oversight at suppliers and customer coordination.   • Drive Scope- Maintain firm control of scope and compliance with specifications and contract requirements. Ensure that scope is well defined and communicated, and proactively obtain any required Change Orders, develop additional scope opportunities which may serve the client's objective.
  • Maintain Cost- Develop and maintain project cost budgets and reports; manage estimated cost at completion, earned value, and contingency. Forecast monthly project costs avoiding cost overruns.
  • Lead the Project Team- Lead the project team in achieving the project tasks and milestones on schedule and under budget. Work closely with the Operations group to ensure that the right resources are assigned to the project at the optimal time. Communicate project progress to the team and to the client and be an effective advocate for the project team. Identify project risks in advance and mobilize the necessary resources to mitigate risks.
  • Present regular project activity and financial updates on projects to large audiences of customers and/or internal associates/management/Executives
  • Become proficient in the extensive use of the E TECH GROUP PMO Methods, Tools and Process specific to project management standards
  • Participate in the implementation of new project management tools that will be utilized across the enterprise
  • Develop a strong level of understanding of E TECH GROUP's Project Management Life (PMLC) Cycle Stages.
  • Serve as an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates..

You Have:

  • BS Engineering degree or equivalent education/experience background
  • At least 3 years of dedicated project management experience or 5+ years in a project engineering environment
  • Proficient in the utilization of project management principles, methods, and tools.
  • Ability to implement Project Management Institute (PMI) based standards into the E TECH GROUP culture, and serve as a mentor to other associates
  • Proven project leadership on difficult projects, applications, solutions, and situations
  • Proven performance in a stressful environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to utilize technology to lead geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Experience managing contracts and/or subcontractors.
  • Experienced in the use of project management software such as MS Project.
  • Familiarity with industrial controls projects.
  • Experience with project budget / fiscal accountability
  • A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Willing to accommodate 30% travel to support on-site project activities. Up to 75% travel if you live outside the Metro DC or Los Angeles area.

You May Have:

  • Controls Engineering background.
  • Experience with true design projects (EOR).
  • PMP Certified preferred
  • Experience managing control system, HMI, plant data historian, and other industrial projects
