About the Role Capella is seeking a Signal Processing Intern to join our Space Systems Engineering team in San Francisco, CA. As a Signal Processing Intern, you’ll work on cutting-edge radar and remote sensing technologies that power Capella’s high-resolution SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) constellation. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world research and development projects that advance the performance, automation, and scientific capability of Capella’s radar data processing systems. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists on projects such as automatic target detection, radio frequency interference (RFI) analysis, and polarimetric SAR data analysis. Key Responsibilities: Depending on your interests and background, you may contribute to: Automatic target detection — supporting development of signal or image-based algorithms for identifying features or anomalies in radar imagery or RF data. Polarimetric analysis — exploring advanced methods to extract physical information from fully polarimetric SAR data. Supporting the development of tools, simulations, and visualizations to evaluate and validate new algorithms. Radar Calibration – supporting methods for ensuring scientific accuracy of data products. Preferred Qualifications Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. , or a senior-year B.S. student in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on signal or image processing or machine learning. Strong foundation in signal processing, remote sensing, or SAR concepts. Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, MATLAB, NumPy/SciPy, PyTorch, or TensorFlow . Experience or coursework in S AR, RFI analysis, target detection, or polarimetry is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze complex datasets, and communicate results effectively. Passion for applying advanced signal processing to meaningful, real-world space applications Required Qualifications Currently attending a degree program and available to work full time for 10 weeks outside of the university academic term. In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship. Echodyne is seeking a Manager of Quality Assurance Engineering to join our fast-growing team! This position plays a key role in leading groups that maintain supplier quality and compliance, and manufacturing quality initiatives, while improving internal processes. You will maintain and develop the supplier quality and manufacturing quality teams responsible for the quality of supplied parts and manufacturing, focusing on zero nonconformance escapes due to poor quality. Work location: Kirkland, WA Travel: Up to 20% REQUIRED SKILLS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Strong leadership experience managing quality engineering teams in a manufacturing assembly environment Proficiency in quality engineering tools and methodologies: Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree) Statistical Process Control (SPC) FAI, APQP, PFMEA Experience interfacing with suppliers and resolving supplier-related quality issues Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and process validation Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external suppliers Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive data-based decisions BASIC PROFICIENCIES: Lead and mentor quality engineers and be an outspoken advocate for quality throughout the organization Expediently and effectively communicate investigations into issues with suppled parts and manufacturing Maintain and improve the site QMS, including NCR and CAPA system in compliance with AS9100 standards Extensive experience with PCBs and PCBAs and be able to assist with technical reviews with suppliers, quality engineers and design engineers Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and cross-functional groups Assist with 3 rd party, customer and internal audits Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement Knowledge of specification development, industry standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), etc Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver innovative, effective and timely solutions Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Oversee New Product Introductions (NPI) by owning supplier qualification, onboarding, and approval processes, including audits, capability assessments, and risk evaluations Establish and maintain supplier quality performance metrics, supplier scorecards, and improvement plans Responsible for enduring supplier root cause analysis initiatives with suppliers, ensuring effective Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and continuous improvement initiatives Lead status reporting of supplier investigations, root cause analysis and resolutions to supplied part issues Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) Oversee quality assurance and control activities within manufacturing operations Ensure processes and tests are robust, statistically capable, and optimized for quality, cost, and yield improvement Implement and maintain process control methodologies (SPC, PFMEA, control plans) Ensure NCR investigations by MQEs with internal nonconformances are appropriate and material is dispositions are applied and closed on time Drive rapid containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action (CAPAs) Support new product introductions by developing and validating manufacturing quality processes QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience with advanced study in the quality sciences and business management disciplines 7 years experience in an electronic manufacturing environment with 5 years directly involved in leading quality engineering A minimum of 3 years of recent prior experience in a high-tech environment Good communication skills, both written and oral Working knowledge of MSD Office; Word and Excel Able to collect, analyze and report data Self-Driven and able to work with limited supervision Ability to travel up to 20% This position is scheduled for Monday through Friday during regular hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, however, staggered shifts and/or weekend work may also be required based upon business needs. Capella Internship Program

Capella's 10-week, in-person internship program (June 8–August 14, 2026) gives students hands-on experience in spacecraft development, operations, and geospatial technology. Interns work directly on meaningful projects while building technical skills, industry insight, and professional connections. The program includes mentorship, team engagement, and social events that support a balanced and collaborative experience. A stipend is provided to help with living expenses.

About the Role 

Capella is seeking a Signal Processing Intern to join our Space Systems Engineering team in San Francisco, CA. As a Signal Processing Intern, you’ll work on cutting-edge radar and remote sensing technologies that power Capella’s high-resolution SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) constellation.

This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world research and development projects that advance the performance, automation, and scientific capability of Capella’s radar data processing systems. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists on projects such as automatic target detection, radio frequency interference (RFI) analysis, and polarimetric SAR data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Depending on your interests and background, you may contribute to:

  • Automatic target detection — supporting development of signal or image-based algorithms for identifying features or anomalies in radar imagery or RF data.
  • Polarimetric analysis — exploring advanced methods to extract physical information from fully polarimetric SAR data.
  • Supporting the development of tools, simulations, and visualizations to evaluate and validate new algorithms.
  • Radar Calibration – supporting methods for ensuring scientific accuracy of data products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D., or a senior-year B.S. student in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on signal or image processing or machine learning.
  • Strong foundation in signal processing, remote sensing, or SAR concepts.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, MATLAB, NumPy/SciPy, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Experience or coursework in SAR, RFI analysis, target detection, or polarimetry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze complex datasets, and communicate results effectively.
  • Passion for applying advanced signal processing to meaningful, real-world space applications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently attending a degree program and available to work full time for 10 weeks outside of the university academic term.
  • In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Compensation

  • This internship will be a 40-hour a week commitment at the pay of $39 per hour. An allowance will also be provided to support living costs throughout the program.
