What you’ll do as MISO’s Senior Manager of Data Engineering:

Experience/Skills needed for our Senior Manager of Data Engineering:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field, or at least 12 years relevant technical experience
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in leading data engineering, digital transformation, cloud technology adoption or DevOps team (demonstrated leadership abilities via mentoring relationships, leading initiatives with strong collaboration, or leading ad hoc teams)
  • Expertise in Azure and modern data architectures, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and real-time streaming solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering best practices, including data warehousing, lakehouses, batch/streaming pipelines, and metadata management.
  • Proficient in database technologies, spanning relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems (Cosmos DB, MongoDB), with experience integrating BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of DevOps/DataOps methodologies, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, version control (Git), and testing frameworks for scalable data pipeline automation.
