SUMMARY This position will be responsible for leveraging technical expertise and knowledge with outside consulting engineers and end user customers to create engaging and informative content for the purpose of assisting with project design and strongly influencing engineering outcomes to toward Peterson Power Systems products and solutions. The Engineering Influencer will collaborate, build, and manage relationships with engineering firms; partner with Peterson Power Systems sales and project management teams as well as work with Peterson's internal marketing team to develop strategies. Meet with outside consulting engineers to influence projects in development to design around Peterson Power Systems products and solutions. Draft Customer Solution Quoter (CSQ) quotes to provide preliminary scope of supply and Rough Order of Magnitude pricing to outside consulting engineers. Plan and organize customer events at Peterson University for the purpose of training on engineering topics and to promote Peterson capabilities and solutions. Participate in industry events and conferences to share insights and knowledge with the broader electrical engineering community. Join industry associations and attend meetings with the intent to make presentation on technical subjects whenever possible. Work closely with our marketing team to develop and execute content strategies that align with business goals and objectives. Collaborate with our project management and sales teams to provide feedback and insights on our products, services, and industry trends. Develop strong relationships and work in collaboration with our California sales team to achieve common goals. Respond to inquiries for information and proposals from Customer and Stake Holders. Work closely with Peterson management, CAT representatives, third party vendors, stake holders, and the Customer to ensure timely and accurate proposal preparation. Proposals will include delivery schedules, performance expectations and terms and conditions. Ensure that all required customer paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Provide support to relevant internal departments such as sales, marketing and project management to ensure proper project execution. Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time in and out of territory. Operate personal vehicle as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other closely related field; and a minimum of five years of directly related experience in diesel engines, rotating machinery, or electric power distribution systems, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. The pay range for this position is: $115,000 - $135,000 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.) Peterson Power Systems has a need for an Engineering Influencer based at our San Leandro, CA location.

SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for leveraging technical expertise and knowledge with outside consulting engineers and end user customers to create engaging and informative content for the purpose of assisting with project design and strongly influencing engineering outcomes to toward Peterson Power Systems products and solutions. The Engineering Influencer will collaborate, build, and manage relationships with engineering firms; partner with Peterson Power Systems sales and project management teams as well as work with Peterson's internal marketing team to develop strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create trusted relationships with engineering firms through engagement (e.g. in person meetings, virtual meetings, lunch and learns and conference calls) on all things Peterson Power Systems. Including and not limited to diesel and gaseous generator sets, switchgear, transfer switches, microgrid systems, battery storage and other new technologies in power generation.

  • Meet with outside consulting engineers to influence projects in development to design around Peterson Power Systems products and solutions.

  • Draft Customer Solution Quoter (CSQ) quotes to provide preliminary scope of supply and Rough Order of Magnitude pricing to outside consulting engineers.

  • Plan and organize customer events at Peterson University for the purpose of training on engineering topics and to promote Peterson capabilities and solutions.

  • Participate in industry events and conferences to share insights and knowledge with the broader electrical engineering community.

  • Join industry associations and attend meetings with the intent to make presentation on technical subjects whenever possible.

  • Work closely with our marketing team to develop and execute content strategies that align with business goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with our project management and sales teams to provide feedback and insights on our products, services, and industry trends.

  • Develop strong relationships and work in collaboration with our California sales team to achieve common goals.

  • Respond to inquiries for information and proposals from Customer and Stake Holders.

  • Work closely with Peterson management, CAT representatives, third party vendors, stake holders, and the Customer to ensure timely and accurate proposal preparation. Proposals will include delivery schedules, performance expectations and terms and conditions.

  • Ensure that all required customer paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

  • Provide support to relevant internal departments such as sales, marketing and project management to ensure proper project execution.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time in and out of territory.

  • Operate personal vehicle as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other closely related field; and a minimum of five years of directly related experience in diesel engines, rotating machinery, or electric power distribution systems, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

The pay range for this position is: $115,000 - $135,000 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
