This engineering team provides test support for electronic/mechatronics components test, battery test, and hardware-in-loop software test. For hardware-in-loop test, machine controllers have simulated stimulus applied (inputs, outputs, CAN, etc) using automated sequences to rapidly test requirements and corner cases. Electronics and mechatronics (motors, linear actuators, etc) have been used on Toro products for many years, with increasing usage due to the growth of electrification, smart connected products, and robotics. What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: Test System Design Project- This will be the primary project for the internship. Develop test system features for automated Hardware-in-the-loop test equipment. In addition to the test system design project: o Component Testing Project(s) § Creating test plans for electronic and mechatronic components § Analyze test results to identify trends and failure modes § Report test results and design recommendations o Hardware-in-Loop Project(s) § Gain understanding of Hardware-in-Loop system architecture. § Review and execute regression test sequences. o Assist with other mechatronics projects as needed. Who Are We?

Our company designs and manufactures turf maintenance equipment; turf irrigation systems; landscape and lighting products; snow and ice management solutions; agricultural irrigation systems; rental, specialty and underground construction equipment; and residential turf and snow equipment. We market and sell TTC products worldwide through a network of distributors, dealers, mass retailers, hardware retailers, equipment rental center and home centers-as well as online direct to end users.

This position in based at TTC's headquarters in Bloomington, MN and supports all TTC brands. This engineering team provides test support for electronic/mechatronics components test, battery test, and hardware-in-loop software test. For hardware-in-loop test, machine controllers have simulated stimulus applied (inputs, outputs, CAN, etc) using automated sequences to rapidly test requirements and corner cases. Electronics and mechatronics (motors, linear actuators, etc) have been used on Toro products for many years, with increasing usage due to the growth of electrification, smart connected products, and robotics.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Test System Design Project- This will be the primary project for the internship. Develop test system features for automated Hardware-in-the-loop test equipment.
  • In addition to the test system design project:

o Component Testing Project(s)

§ Creating test plans for electronic and mechatronic components

§ Analyze test results to identify trends and failure modes

§ Report test results and design recommendations

o Hardware-in-Loop Project(s)

§ Gain understanding of Hardware-in-Loop system architecture.

§ Review and execute regression test sequences.

o Assist with other mechatronics projects as needed.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following:

  • Preferred Majors: 2+ Years Completed of an ABET-accredited Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering Degree.
  • Preferred Skills: LabVIEW, TestStand, Soldering, Electrical Schematics, Embedded Systems
