We are looking for a Product Specialist to drive initiatives in the growing and dynamic global Microelectronics and Sensors business. This person will hold responsibilities such as work on existing products as well as future product developments efforts in our innovation pipeline. Within this position you will also be responsible for leading a variety of marketing related projects, business/market research and growth objectives.

What will you be doing?

  • The Product Specialist is a key member of the global Microelectronics and Sensors (ME&S) Team who supports the Business leader, Product Managers, Application Engineers, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Process Engineering in a variety of areas.
  • Contributes to bottom line results in high energy and dynamic situations that require teamwork, planning, communication and implementation / execution skills. Emphasis should be on on-time project completion to drive revenue growth, market share gain, and margin enhancement. Will need to be able to influence diverse teams towards achieving project goals and timelines.
  • Work with Operations and Process Engineering teams to ensure product samples are available pre-launch and that material is available for sale post launch. Ensure that the appropriate items numbers are set up in the ERP system.
  • Manages day-to-day progress of projects and keep Product Manager, Project Champion and other interested parties updated via timely and responsive communication.
  • As appropriate, can assist the Project Manager or lead their own New Product Development (NPD) projects. In this capacity, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading a 6 member, cross functional team through the formal phase gate process, including the creation of the overall project plan and validation of financial metrics for a given NPD project.
  • As appropriate, can assist the Project Manager for an Applications project that has been approved and resourced.
  • Identify areas where processes can be improved, costs could be reduced, or timelines can be accelerated to shorten time to market for new products.
  • Work with Global and Regional Marketing Communication teams to support creation of collateral for product launch, industry education and positioning, and promotions.
  • Conducts market research projects as needed and defined by the Marketing Team. The market research can include basic data collection via internet, surveys and both internal and externally conducted interviews, collation and organization of the raw data and assessment of the implications of the data. Finally working with the project sponsor in the development of a close out market research report and recommended actions from the project.
  • Works closely with other functions such as Sales, Technical Service, Operations, GPEG, Quality and R&D to achieve the defined goals and deliverables for assigned projects and successfully complete assigned tasks.

Who are You?

  • To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job we are looking for someone that possess a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a technical discipline (preferrably a science or engineering discipline) and at least two to five years of experience.
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
