  • Mentor and coach engineering managers, helping them develop their leadership skills and technical judgment
  • Navigate organizational dynamics and build coalitions, providing clear communication to executive stakeholders on progress, risks, and technical strategy

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership roles (managing managers)
  • Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and building high-performing organizations of 50+
  • Deep experience collaborating with executive leadership, product, and design to develop strategy, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver complex, multi-team initiatives
  • Strong business acumen and customer-centric mindset, with the ability to translate business objectives into technical strategy
  • Solid technical depth across modern engineering practices, architectures, and systems, with the ability to evaluate technical decisions and guide senior technical leaders
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and retaining exceptional engineering talent, including building diverse and inclusive teams
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, with experience presenting to executives and rallying large groups around shared vision
  • Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams preferred

The starting base salary for this role in San Francisco is between $272,000 - $340,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius's equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
