We are seeking a hands-on, impact-driven Engineering Manager to lead our Android SDK team, which includes talented developers in both Cambridge, MA, and Budapest, Hungary.

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Engineering Manager, Android SDK, who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a geographically distributed team of high-caliber Android engineers & QAs in Cambridge and Budapest
  • Foster a high-trust, high-performance environment focused on quality, impact, and collaboration
  • Support individual career development, provide regular coaching, and drive performance reviews
  • Ensure strong team alignment with CMT's Engineering values, business goals, and engineering best practices
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the Android Mobile SDK
  • Collaborate with product, hardware, and backend teams to deliver a reliable mobile sensing intelligence platform.
  • Advocate for clean, scalable, and testable code and drive improvements in automation, observability, and resilience
  • Be a technical resource to the team - especially during onboarding and critical projects
  • Translate business needs into engineering priorities and manage project execution across time zones
  • Drive planning, retrospectives, and delivery of roadmap items with high predictability and velocity
  • Track SDK adoption, integration health, and release quality with metrics that drive improvements
  • Partner with stakeholders and other engineering teams to accelerate innovation and reduce operational friction
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering preferred
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Android or mobile platforms
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, including distributed team leadership and leading QA
  • Strong expertise in Kotlin, Android frameworks, lifecycle management, and mobile observability
  • Experience developing and maintaining SDKs or mobile platforms used by external developers is a major plus
  • Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to partner with technical and non-technical teams
  • Track record of delivering reliable, high-impact software in an agile environment
  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed, especially to lead by example or during team ramp-up
