Position Brand Description: Plant Engineering in Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing is responsible for maintaining the site's facility infrastructure including buildings, HVAC, UAF Hoods, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer, and other utility systems to a state of compliance. It must assure that facilities and related infrastructure are fit for use when needed, maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary. Plant Engineering is also responsible for the efficient and effective management of local capital for their assets and oversight of engineering/maintenance contract resources. The Sr. Specialist in Plant Engineering is responsible for supporting and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of the equipment and processes in the area(s) that they support. This includes HVAC (refrigeration, AHUs, Freezers, Cold Boxes, Heating Hot Water, etc.), UAF Hoods, and the ancillary systems associated within these systems, including instrumentation/controls. The Sr. Specialist in Plant Engineering ensures that equipment remains in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while also supporting associated continuous improvement initiatives. Key Objectives / Deliverables: Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, leading safety initiatives, and working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals. Support HVAC/UAF applications in aseptic manufacturing; within areas of responsibility. An understanding of mechanical equipment used in a manufacturing environment (Pumps, HEPAs, motors, hoods, etc.). Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture. Provide input into capital projects targeted at both short- and longer-term needs and provide support on delivery of projects in their area(s). Monitors daily system performance (HVAC, temp., %RH, DPs, etc.). Performs routine walk through of areas of support. Responsible for standard troubleshooting problems on HVAC, Hoods, and its corresponding utilities. Provide first line of communication to crafts/shops and to the customer. Schedules and coordinates work for area(s) of responsibility (PM/Corrective work). GMARS SME for specific area(s) of support. Primary responder for issues requiring on site response (alarm response) for areas of responsibility. Responsible for creating MAPs (Maintenance Action Plan) for scheduled and non-scheduled work. Responsible for maintenance strategy implementation and effectiveness (i.e., PMs, job plans, datasheets). Leads/participates in small projects for area of support. Coordinates work/repairs with external vendors. Manages shutdown work and schedule compliance. Identify opportunities to improve quality & reliability using system performance data and by assuring maintenance is performed appropriately. Participates in Process Teams for Plant Engineering. Minimum Requirements: Strong problem-solving skills. Technical understanding of HVAC, UAF Hoods, HEPAs, and Utilities (including rotating equipment). Good interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with engineers, operations, maintenance, and quality personnel. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Computer skills in a variety of software packages (SAP, GMARS, Excel, etc.). Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals. Additional Preferences: Parenteral manufacturing experience. Plant engineering experience. GMARS or similar computerized maintenance management (CMMS) system experience. Education Requirements: High School Diploma. Job Description Synthetic Molecule Process Development (SMPD) is responsible for the development of robust, sustainable, and cost-effective processes for the manufacture of new synthetic molecule pharmaceuticals, along with methods for achieving and controlling high standards of purity and quality. Position Brand Description:

Plant Engineering in Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing is responsible for maintaining the site's facility infrastructure including buildings, HVAC, UAF Hoods, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer, and other utility systems to a state of compliance. It must assure that facilities and related infrastructure are fit for use when needed, maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary. Plant Engineering is also responsible for the efficient and effective management of local capital for their assets and oversight of engineering/maintenance contract resources.

The Sr. Specialist in Plant Engineering is responsible for supporting and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of the equipment and processes in the area(s) that they support. This includes HVAC (refrigeration, AHUs, Freezers, Cold Boxes, Heating Hot Water, etc.), UAF Hoods, and the ancillary systems associated within these systems, including instrumentation/controls. The Sr. Specialist in Plant Engineering ensures that equipment remains in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while also supporting associated continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Objectives / Deliverables:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, leading safety initiatives, and working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Support HVAC/UAF applications in aseptic manufacturing; within areas of responsibility.
  • An understanding of mechanical equipment used in a manufacturing environment (Pumps, HEPAs, motors, hoods, etc.).
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture.
  • Provide input into capital projects targeted at both short- and longer-term needs and provide support on delivery of projects in their area(s).
  • Monitors daily system performance (HVAC, temp., %RH, DPs, etc.).
  • Performs routine walk through of areas of support.
  • Responsible for standard troubleshooting problems on HVAC, Hoods, and its corresponding utilities.
  • Provide first line of communication to crafts/shops and to the customer.
  • Schedules and coordinates work for area(s) of responsibility (PM/Corrective work).
  • GMARS SME for specific area(s) of support.
  • Primary responder for issues requiring on site response (alarm response) for areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for creating MAPs (Maintenance Action Plan) for scheduled and non-scheduled work.
  • Responsible for maintenance strategy implementation and effectiveness (i.e., PMs, job plans, datasheets).
  • Leads/participates in small projects for area of support.
  • Coordinates work/repairs with external vendors.
  • Manages shutdown work and schedule compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality & reliability using system performance data and by assuring maintenance is performed appropriately.
  • Participates in Process Teams for Plant Engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Technical understanding of HVAC, UAF Hoods, HEPAs, and Utilities (including rotating equipment).
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with engineers, operations, maintenance, and quality personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Computer skills in a variety of software packages (SAP, GMARS, Excel, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.

Additional Preferences:

  • Parenteral manufacturing experience.
  • Plant engineering experience.
  • GMARS or similar computerized maintenance management (CMMS) system experience.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Technical Field preferred.

Other Information:

  • Standard business hours (days, M-F) with after-hour support and shutdown support as needed.
  • Minimal travel required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$31.37 - $52.28

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
