Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced and dynamic Systems - System Safety Engineering Mgr on the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. This System Safety Engineering Management position reports to the Space System Safety Engineering Senior Manager.

The Systems Engineering Manager resides either in Titusville, Fl or Littleton, CO and is responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

The successful candidate will:

  • Directly support FBM Sustainment and new design Missile Programs.
  • Lead product safety culture change initiatives within the Systems Engineering organization
  • Manage the System Safety Engineering Processes that span the Product Lifecycle.
  • Manages the various System Safety Engineering analysis and safety criteria in system design, equipment, facilities and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
  • Support the maintenance of Space Command Media.
  • Directing and conducting program assessments/audits to determine Space Command Media compliance and health across the Enterprise.
  • Support LM Space new business capture including proposal coordination and execution. Be responsible for Domestic and International Regulations including transportation of explosives, chemicals, and integrated products.
  • Perform horizontal integration within the Systems Engineering organization to identify opportunities and value-added modifications to become more competitive.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams of engineers.
  • Experience in hardware and/or software lifecycle
  • Systems Engineering experience including requirements derivation, decomposition, and/or verification
  • Experience evaluating contractual requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Active Secret clearance required, therefore, US Citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

  • Subject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
  • A Full Spectrum Leader
  • Experience in executing a SW Safety strategy including Level of Rigor
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • SSC Command Media
  • Experienced/fluent in MIL-STD-882, and Range Safety requirements/processes (e.g., SSCMAN 91-710)
  • Experience with leading audits, budget responsibility,
  • Mishap prevention/investigations.
  • Green Belt/Black Belt Certified
  • Experience leading diverse engineering teams to identify hazards, assess and mitigate associated risks encountered in the design, development, test, production, use and disposal.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
