About QSIC QSIC is reinventing in-store audio. We use Audio, Intelligence (AI) and Creativity to redefine the value of in-store audio and drive growth for retailers and brands. Our story began in Australia over a decade ago with a love for music and a simple purpose: to create value that others can’t see. We sought to bring that to life through exceptional audio experiences, so we built the leading intelligent in-store audio platform for retailers and brands. At QSIC, in-store audio has never been just “background noise.” Audio has the power to change the atmosphere, spark emotion and shift the atmosphere. When it’s seamlessly woven into an in-store experience, it doesn’t just play – it connects. It engages shoppers without distracting them, influences decisions where it matters most, and elevates the entire shopping journey. Today, QSIC technology powers thousands of stores across three continents, reaching over 100 million shoppers each month. - QSIC’s Ad Platform removes the friction of ad production, and instantly creates targeted, brand-aligned messaging with AI. Advertisers can use our Planning solution to eliminate guesswork by having their messages dynamically placed in the market - at the right time, for maximum impact. Every ad play is recorded and verified, providing unprecedented transparency. -QSIC’s In-Store Audio solutions deliver intelligent, scalable and personalised playlists to match brand identities, and automated volume control to adjust for every moment! - QSIC Intelligence provides enhanced targeting, and predicts the right message for every moment using our data-driven insights. We choose honesty over getting it “perfect” every time. - Invent Solutions : Roll up your sleeves. We see a problem and don’t dwell on it but rather - we understand it, we own it, we solve it. We don’t see a wall, but a hurdle ready for us to take. - Learn Everyday: Soak it up. We have a genuine insatiable curiosity and never take ourselves too seriously. - One Team : We are all in this together. We value the diversity of our people—their nuances and differences. When we come together as a team, that’s what makes us truly great. At QSIC we recognise there is no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate. QSIC is a company where everyone has an opportunity. So however you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this role interests you. QSIC is an equal opportunity employer, and we know that a diverse workforce is crucial to our success as a business! QSIC takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. AngelListSan Francisco, CA
About AngelList: We exist to accelerate innovation. We do this by giving more people the opportunity to participate in the venture economy by building the financial infrastructure that makes it possible for more people to invest in world-changing startups. We also build tools for startup founders that help them run their operations, so they can focus on building their company. AngelList is the nexus of venture capital and the startup community. We support over $171B+ assets on our platform, and we’ve driven capital to over 13,000 startups. 57% of top-tier U.S. VC deals involve investors on AngelList. While our scale is large, our ambitions are even larger – we’re innovating on the infrastructure for venture and individual investors and the startups they invest in. Come build with us! About the Role Data is the foundation of AngelList’s core products: investor reporting, fund operations, financial intelligence, and compliance. We’re not looking for someone to build dashboards. We’re looking for someone to define the data product itself. The Head of Data Engineering will own the fidelity, accessibility, and modeling of data across the company. You’ll work side-by-side with engineering, product, operations, and finance to ensure data is not a downstream byproduct, it’s embedded at the core of every workflow we deliver. This is a rare opportunity to lead a technical domain with real business leverage. You’ll build a team that applies software engineering discipline to data, prioritizes quality over vanity, and treats accuracy as a customer experience. The work you do will enable everything from internal reconciliation to investor-facing insights at scale. Responsibilities Architect and maintain high-fidelity pipelines for internal product data and third-party integrations (e.g., regulatory data, banking systems). Define and manage canonical data models and metrics used across reporting, operations, and product workflows. Lead data quality efforts: validation, observability, lineage, and SLAs – building trust from ingestion to dashboard. Partner with engineering to influence schema design and logging at the source. Build and grow a team of high-agency data engineers and analysts focused on accuracy, reliability, and usability. Support product teams with experimentation and real-time decision infrastructure. Deliver self-service, well-documented data interfaces for internal teams and stakeholders. Set a high bar for precision, accountability, and long-term data stewardship. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform roles, with at least 3 years leading teams. Deep expertise in data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and quality frameworks in a complex domain like venture. You think like a product owner: you measure success by what data unlocks, not what it looks like. Strong collaboration skills – can bridge technical, operational, and business domains. Track record of building from scratch and operating in high-ambiguity environments. Experience working closely with backend engineering; comfortable reviewing code, schemas, and logging patterns. High integrity and craftsmanship. You bring precision to naming conventions, documentation, and model definitions. Familiarity with financial systems, accounting data, or regulated environments is a plus. How Success will be Measured in this Role: Data Quality & Trust: Significant improvement in data reliability and observability across critical systems, measured by reduction in data breakages, escalations, and reconciliation errors. Infrastructure Impact: Delivery of robust, scalable data pipelines and models that power operational, financial, and customer-facing workflows. Cross-Functional Enablement: High satisfaction from stakeholders (engineering, finance, product, ops) based on access to usable, well-modeled, and timely data. If you don’t tick every box above, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’re building a diverse team whose skills balance and complement one another. AngelList has offices in a few cities, and our engineering hub in San Francisco. We’re focused on hiring from this hub office so engineers and product teams can collaborate in the office at least twice per week (Tuesdays and choice between Wednesday or Thursday). Compensation: The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $280,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Additional details about our Total Rewards package will be provided during the recruitment process. Benefits: We support our employees in their lives both inside and outside of work. *See additional detail on our benefits here: https://angell.ist/venture-benefits *Learn about our Funders & Founders Program here: https://join.angellist.com/ Working at AngelList: At AngelList, we are united in our purpose to accelerate innovation and build the future of private markets.
