Position Summary: The Engineering Intern will have an opportunity to learn and/or use basic engineering and lean manufacturing principles, theories, and concepts. Under close supervision and following specific detailed instructions, the intern performs entry level manufacturing engineering assignments such as authoring work instructions using drawings and specifications and/or any special projects as directed. Responsibilities include both general and specialized assignments that provide training and work experience of a developmental nature. Requirements: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university program leading to a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other science or technology related major and have completed the sophomore year of study by the start date of the internship. Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills. Proven problem-solving skills are required. Knowledge of industrial tools, hand tools and power tools is preferred. Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred. Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift. Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Strong MS Office skills required. Specifically: Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred. Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of all Microsoft Software application. We are seeking current Civil Engineering students to join our team as a Civil Transmission Line Engineering Intern in Houston, TX for the summer of 2025. As a member of our team, you will partner and collaborate with senior engineers and other interns to solve real world challenges for our utility grid customers.  You can expect to gain experience in steel and concrete structure analysis and design, foundation analysis and design, substation civil/structural design, transmission line design using PLS-CADD software, construction document development, material analysis, among other tasks. This work will expand upon your current knowledge and skills and will assist you in gaining expertise in the power delivery field.

  • Assist the team with the development of processes and procedures to improve project execution efficiency.
