About the position:

This is an exciting opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice and develop new skills in the high-tech industry. As a Co-op, you will join the Product Development Team, the group behind well-known devices such as the Amazon Kindle Oasis, Kindle Paperwhite, and ReMarkable eNote.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will apply core engineering principles to advance the characterization and understanding of ePaper material systems. You'll work on diverse projects ranging from designing novel mechanical setups to studying key process parameters to enable the latest E Ink technology.

  • Collaborate with the Product Development Team to design new mechanical parts and systems that enable innovative processes and methods
  • Characterize ePaper display materials using physical and chemical techniques
  • Design test samples and experiments for systematic, controlled studies
  • Perform hands-on lab work to execute experimental plans and collect data reliably and efficiently
  • Analyze results and present summaries and conclusions to the team

Qualifications:

  • 2+ yeas minimum education in BS program in Mechanical Engineering/ Materials Science &Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Macromolecular Science or Polymer Science &Engineering
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Working skills of mechanical design tools, such as AutoCad and Solidworks
  • Good foundation in basic engineering fundamentals such as physics and chemistry
  • Curiosity and aptitude in problem-solving for in-depth technical exploration
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Good organization skills and capacity to manage own schedule
