As the New Glenn Materials & Processes (M&P) Senior Manager for mechanical systems, you'll be responsible for leading a team of materials and processes engineers as they perform tasks related to the design, manufacture, and operation of the New Glenn launch system's 7-Engine and 9-Engine booster programs. As and ideal candidate, you'll have experience mentoring multiple engineers, delivering software via Agile methodologies, and building platforms (best in breed technologies, data management at scale, serverless technologies) in support of driving transformational efforts. From an architecture and design perspective, we would expect you to be innovative and think out-of-the-box while following displined and practical decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members and organizations to their optimum performance.
  • Design & Development: Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for software products and systems. Lead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact software components and services.
  • Software Delivery: Ensure your teams are delivering in an Agile way and consistently evolving and learning. Align to the key tenants: fail-fast, transparency, testing, collaboration, and practicality.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Product Management team for your assigned functional area to develop the product roadmap which would inform the technical strategy.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Test Automation: Ensure high quality deliverables by defining and adhering to robust technical and design standards along with testing (automation preferred) based on the business user cases.
  • Code Quality: Promote best practices in coding standards, testing, continuous integration, and deployment automation. Ensure systems are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve system performance and developer productivity

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, related degree, or comparable experience
  • 10+ years of overall software development experience; 7+ years of management experience. Demonstrated management experience in leading engineering teams; ability to coach and mentor resources and effectively manage and shape team and individual behaviors
  • Knowledge of IT strategic planning and capability development with experience implementing technology strategy and roadmaps with prior experience leading a software organization through transformation
  • Proven experience designing, and supporting enterprise scale systems that have high performance and scalability requirements
  • Passion for always learning and applying new technologies to solve clients' objectives
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and lead team members and organizations to their optimum performance along with an ability to attract, develop and retain talent
  • Total commitment to quality and attention to detail

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $280,000 - $300,000.
