Job Description
This is an opportunity for engineering students to gain real-world experience working on actual engineering projects within the Bison business unit. Our division designs and produces motors, blowers, pumps, motor drives, and associated electronics that are used in a variety of demanding industries.
For this position, you will work independently and as part of small teams to support a variety of engineering functions and tasks, gaining relevant and useful career experience. Each co-op block will be tailored to best match up timely business needs with individual career interests, to provide an experience that you can build upon and use in the future.
What you will do:
Work directly with experienced engineers to design, test, document, and validate new components and products
Build, document, and validate the electro-mechanical performance of motors, gearmotors, blowers, drives, software, circuitry, and other products
Conduct tests, analyze data, and provide formal report-outs on findings and recommendations
Create and support the development of technical documentation
What we are looking for:
Must be enrolled in a relevant Engineering degree program at an accredited university; Mechanical and Electrical Engineering majors would typically be a good fit, but similar majors are considered
Sophomore or higher-level standing
3.0 GPA or higher
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail to effectively communicate with others is highly beneficial
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to read assembly prints for assembly/disassembly of motors and gearmotors given training and supervision
Knowledge or interest in embedded systems programming or PCB design is a plus
Additional characteristics:
Ability to set up and tear down mechanical and electrical test equipment
Ability to work in a laboratory environment

Employee Type: Hourly
Salary Minimum: $35,000
Salary Maximum: $55,000
