  • Review staff workpapers and provide constructive feedback.

  • Perform second reviews and support resource management.

Contract & Financial Analysis

  • Conduct detailed contract reviews and interpret financial provisions of client agreements with third parties, including record labels, publishers, digital service providers and other licensing entities.

  • Evaluate royalty statements for compliance with financial terms in the relevant agreements.

  • Prepare workpapers and reports to calculate and quantify understated royalties.

Client & Team Communication

  • Communicate findings clearly with engagement teams and clients.

  • Attend client presentations and meetings.

  • Update Managers and Partners on engagement status and issues.

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Develop administrative, professional, and interpersonal skills to organize, analyze, and communicate with both the engagement team and client personnel.

  • Exercise professional skepticism in the critical assessment of audit evidence.

  • Research and analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters.

  • Comply with the Firm's quality control policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Music Business or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the music industry working with royalties, interpreting agreements and accounting in audit or assurance.

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • Experience in querying large datasets to conduct thorough and accurate analyses.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA License

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience with valuing intellectual property, including master recordings, publishing rights, and name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $120,000 - $142,000. For Southern California residents, Washington residents, Illinois residents, and New York residents, the compensation range for this position: $115,000 - $135,300. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $104,000 - $123,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
