What you'll do in this role:

  • Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
  • Effectively inform and educate our patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
  • Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
  • Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid in the planning of subsequent sessions
  • Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
  • Encourage patients to take part in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
  • Support the patient's creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being

We are looking for compassionate Hospice Music Therapist with:

  • Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
  • Current Board certified (MT-BC) credential according to U. S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
  • State music therapy licensing where required
  • At least six (6) months of work/education experience with geriatric health care
  • At least six (6) months of work /education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care
