The Clinic Medical Assistant (MA) provides patient ambulatory care in the medical office/clinic setting. The MA provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care and meets the communication needs of patient and family. The MA provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. The Medical Assistant maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and practice policies, procedures and standards. You will be responsible for communicating with providers and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies .The Medical Assistant  may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of an RN/LPN/LVN and/or physician. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family. Interacts professionally with patient and family and involves patient and family in patient education. Maintains infection prevention and control standards for exam/procedure rooms; cleans, disinfects, changes linen, etc. Maintains medical practice instruments; knowledgeable of sterilization techniques and biological indicators for sterilization. Meets current documentation standards and policies. Maintains established practice policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection prevention and control standards. Maintains a good working relationship with all staff members of the hospital. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Position Title: Patient Service Representative (PSR) Summary Description: ZOLL, manufacturer of the LifeVest wearable defibrillator, is seeking a Patient Service Representatives as an independent contract worker to train patients on the use of the LifeVest. The LifeVest wearable defibrillator is worn by patients at risk for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), providing protection during their changing condition.  It is lightweight and easy to wear, allowing patients to return to their common activities of daily living, while having the peace of mind that they are protected from SCA.   This is the perfect opportunity for the health professional with patient care and teaching experience to supplement his or her income. A typical LifeVest patient is in the hospital awaiting discharge, and the PSR sets up the equipment and trains the patient and caregivers on the LifeVest. They also follow up with patients as needed to assure patient understanding and satisfaction. PSRs retain the flexibility to accept or decline assignments as their schedules dictate. Most assignments can be scheduled during free time – before/after work, and on days off. This position will play a vital role in helping Doctors, and other healthcare professionals diagnose and treat patients in our facility. JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION: The Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic examination. Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity”. Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand.
