Receives patient, explains the procedure, and creates a safe environment for the patient through good communication skills. · Radiography. Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations including spine, extremities, head chest, and abdomen. Follows standard positions and views prescribed by radiologists. Assists radiologist with fluoroscopic procedures. Performs bone density tests. Receives patients, explains procedures, and utilizes standardized techniques, settings, and positions to accomplish acceptable results. · Office Duties. Performs office jobs in a small department including, but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling patients’ exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies, and helping radiologists and providers. · Responsible for QA and QC for NPVMC imaging modalities. Documents: patient exposure time to radiation, amount of contrast administered, exam performed, and other information as required by the Joint Commission regulations.
