BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB This position will operate as a core part of a psychiatry team in our outpatient psychiatry clinic, and will work closely with our Psychiatry Providers to provide outpatient psychotherapeutic service. REPORTS TO Vice President-Patient Care Services JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Doctorate Required PhD or PsyD in psychology with appropriate focus on child, adolescent, or early development, including completion of an internship in an APA or CPA accredited psychology program Training in at least one evidence-based practice (including, but not limited to: PCIT, TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, ERP, FBT, PMT- Parent Management Training, Motivational Interviewing) Minimum Work Experience Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or integrated healthcare is preferred but not required. Prior pediatric experience required Required Licenses/Certifications for position Licensed Psychologist REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to relate and effectively communicate with varying levels of staff. Work cooperatively and flexibly in role within a multi-disciplinary team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate as an active member of the psychiatry and psychology team. Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment on an outpatient basis. Collaborates and works as a team member with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on relevant research and empirically validated clinical practice through attendance and participation at continuing education events. Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably. Document assessment, interventions, and treatment plans clearly and promptly in patient records. Attend clinic meetings, including office staff, and treatment team meeting. Clinical schedule will be appropriately blocked for all meetings. Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested. Operational Excellence/Quality Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff. Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees. Human Resource (Team Behaviors) Remains knowledgeable and up to date on relevant research and empirically validated clinical practice through attendance and participation at continuing education events. Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested. Financial Stewardship Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably. Prioritizes and plans work activities in a way that utilizes time efficiently. BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position will operate as a core part of a psychiatry team in our outpatient psychiatry clinic, and will work closely with our Psychiatry Providers to provide outpatient psychotherapeutic service.

Vice President-Patient Care Services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education

  • Doctorate Required

  • PhD or PsyD in psychology with appropriate focus on child, adolescent, or early development, including completion of an internship in an APA or CPA accredited psychology program

  • Training in at least one evidence-based practice (including, but not limited to: PCIT, TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, ERP, FBT, PMT- Parent Management Training, Motivational Interviewing)

  • Minimum Work Experience

  • Post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or integrated healthcare is preferred but not required. Prior pediatric experience required

  • Required Licenses/Certifications for position

  • Licensed Psychologist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate as an active member of the psychiatry and psychology team.

  • Provides assessment and ongoing psychotherapeutic treatment on an outpatient basis.

  • Collaborates and works as a team member with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.

  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on relevant research and empirically validated clinical practice through attendance and participation at continuing education events.

  • Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.

  • Document assessment, interventions, and treatment plans clearly and promptly in patient records.

  • Attend clinic meetings, including office staff, and treatment team meeting. Clinical schedule will be appropriately blocked for all meetings.

  • Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.

Operational Excellence/Quality

  • Participates in providing training and in-service education for East TN Children's Hospital staff.

  • Supervises and engages in clinical teaching with psychology trainees.
