The Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and presenting operational data from a wide variety of sources to diverse audiences. SAP experience is a plus. Individual must possess above-average analytical skills and data acumen and be suited to a fast-paced, evolving work environment. Primary Responsibilities Assist in the facilitation of the period close with various GL activities to include journal entries, balance sheet support files. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other period end reports. Create and maintain GL codes, cost centers and profit centers. Preparation of files and reports for internal review audits, assist in the communication regarding workpapers and their testing. Assist the Controller in reviewing records of accounts and reconcilliations to ensure accuracy. Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, and ad hoc SAP reports. Demonstrate and maintain expert knowledge/leadership in functional support of SAP in the areas of Finance and Controlling. Work closely with IT teams to design, implement, and test solutions that meet business needs. Identify and analyze trends and business results to maximize business value. Assists in Development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. Assist as needed with all areas of the accounting department and other duties as assigned. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Required Qualifications Education and/or Experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Statistics, Mathematics; 3 - 6 years of previous accounting experience highly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication/Language Skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to write reports, presentations, and other business correspondence and interpret requests for analytics and issue resolution. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Technical Competencies. Must be highly proficient in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, and lookups. Proficiency in SAP is a plus. Mathematical Skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Strong analytical skills and capabilities to work with large quantities of complex data and draw conclusions and inferences from that work. Reasoning Abilities. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Position Purpose

The Financial Analyst position, based in Sioux Falls, SD (OLM Food Solutions) will report to the Controller. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and presenting operational data from a wide variety of sources to diverse audiences. SAP experience is a plus. Individual must possess above-average analytical skills and data acumen and be suited to a fast-paced, evolving work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the facilitation of the period close with various GL activities to include journal entries, balance sheet support files.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other period end reports.
  • Create and maintain GL codes, cost centers and profit centers.
  • Preparation of files and reports for internal review audits, assist in the communication regarding workpapers and their testing.
  • Assist the Controller in reviewing records of accounts and reconcilliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, and ad hoc SAP reports.
  • Demonstrate and maintain expert knowledge/leadership in functional support of SAP in the areas of Finance and Controlling.
  • Work closely with IT teams to design, implement, and test solutions that meet business needs.
  • Identify and analyze trends and business results to maximize business value.
  • Assists in Development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Assist as needed with all areas of the accounting department and other duties as assigned.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Statistics, Mathematics; 3 - 6 years of previous accounting experience highly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication/Language Skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to write reports, presentations, and other business correspondence and interpret requests for analytics and issue resolution. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Technical Competencies. Must be highly proficient in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, and lookups. Proficiency in SAP is a plus.
  • Mathematical Skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Strong analytical skills and capabilities to work with large quantities of complex data and draw conclusions and inferences from that work.
  • Reasoning Abilities. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
