As a Project Leader/Engineer, you will work with customers and the Outside Sales Team to match customer requirements with Terex configurations, verify build feasibility, and provide supporting technical data. The person in this role is responsible for oversight of customer build projects throughout the processes from quote to customer acceptance. What you'll do Manage customer build projects from quote stage to customer acceptance. Collaborate closely with customers, Outside Sales, Engineering and Production to determine project feasibility and match customer requirements related to truck configurations and specifications. Verify customer requests and quotation documents meet Terex, supplier, ANSI and other industry standards to determine feasibility and safety of designs. Utilize 2D/3D CAD software (Draft Sight/AutoCAD/Solidworks utilized) to generate preliminary drawings and weight studies for use in specifying, quoting and producing utility equipment. Conduct customer design reviews either digitally or at the customer's location when necessary. Conduct customer first article inspections (FAI) on applicable jobs, both digitally and hosting customer on-site. Coordinate with Production team to answer questions and ensure build accuracy to customer expectations. Assist in the design, specification and maintenance of standard platforms and options for Terex products. Communicate with vendors to specify equipment to ensure a high-quality product and ease of manufacture while minimizing the cost. Keep up to date on current product developments in the industry and communicate to Terex team members. Collaborate with Outside Sales to determine the best information to be presented to the customer. Advocate for Terex as a business, while also driving customer satisfaction with the product. Manage multiple project priorities and deadlines. Support trade shows and customer demo's as appropriate. Join our team at Terex Utilities and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Project Leader/Engineer to contribute to the Terex team in Watertown, SD.

As a Project Leader/Engineer, you will work with customers and the Outside Sales Team to match customer requirements with Terex configurations, verify build feasibility, and provide supporting technical data. The person in this role is responsible for oversight of customer build projects throughout the processes from quote to customer acceptance.

What you'll do

  • Manage customer build projects from quote stage to customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, Outside Sales, Engineering and Production to determine project feasibility and match customer requirements related to truck configurations and specifications.
  • Verify customer requests and quotation documents meet Terex, supplier, ANSI and other industry standards to determine feasibility and safety of designs.
  • Utilize 2D/3D CAD software (Draft Sight/AutoCAD/Solidworks utilized) to generate preliminary drawings and weight studies for use in specifying, quoting and producing utility equipment.
  • Conduct customer design reviews either digitally or at the customer's location when necessary.
  • Conduct customer first article inspections (FAI) on applicable jobs, both digitally and hosting customer on-site.
  • Coordinate with Production team to answer questions and ensure build accuracy to customer expectations.
  • Assist in the design, specification and maintenance of standard platforms and options for Terex products.
  • Communicate with vendors to specify equipment to ensure a high-quality product and ease of manufacture while minimizing the cost.
  • Keep up to date on current product developments in the industry and communicate to Terex team members.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales to determine the best information to be presented to the customer.
  • Advocate for Terex as a business, while also driving customer satisfaction with the product.
  • Manage multiple project priorities and deadlines.
  • Support trade shows and customer demo's as appropriate.

What you'll bring

Required

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience in a sales support, parts sales or a CSR role

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
  • Experience working with medium chassis applications equipment
  • Experience working with heavy equipment industry
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications
  • Previous experience developing sales proposals
  • Experience in AutoCAD/Solidworks
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of fast-paced, cross-functional analytical team
  • Ability to travel an estimated 10%

Salary: The compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $74,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
