Resource Innovations is seeking a AWS DevOps Engineer . This is remote position requiring occasional in-person office meetings for candidates residing in one of the following metro areas: San Francisco CA, Chicago IL, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, or Madison WI. This position will work on a wide range of SaaS products on AWS platform that fundamentally changes how utilities manage business processes and customer initiatives for energy efficiency, renewable energy, demands response and conservation. Duties and Responsibilities: Architecture & Strategy Design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions to support our SaaS products. Define and continuously improve standards for infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational processes. Lead the team in adopting modern practices like containerization, serverless computing, and Infrastructure as Code. Drive the roadmap for DevOps tooling, automation, and scalability improvements. Hands‑On Engineering Build and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable cloud environments. Develop and integrate next‑generation CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated deployments and testing. Implement configuration management, monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure proactive issue detection. Optimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues in real time. Technical Leadership & Collaboration Act as a technical lead and mentor for the DevOps team—review designs, guide implementation, and share best practices. Work closely with engineering and product teams to support new features, releases, and operational improvements. Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and cross‑team discussions to prioritize DevOps initiatives. Foster a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 8+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience with AWS cloud. Proven experience leading or mentoring a DevOps team. Deep technical expertise in: AWS services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, Beanstalk, CloudFront, Route 53, Glacier, Lambda, EventBridge. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation. CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git, automation pipelines. Linux administration and scripting: Bash, Python. Security and compliance: ITIL, NIST, SOC2. Monitoring and logging: Grafana, CloudWatch, log analysis. Messaging/queueing systems: SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, SES. Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS). Experience with serverless architectures. Ability to design infrastructure from scratch and scale existing platforms. Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability to new technologies. Nice to Have Experience with AWS Transfer Family. Hands‑on experience in architecting modern SaaS infrastructure. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location. This is remote position requiring occasional in-person office meetings for candidates residing in one of the following metro areas: San Francisco CA, Chicago IL, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, or Madison WI.       • Design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions to support our SaaS products.
      • Define and continuously improve standards for infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational processes.
      • Lead the team in adopting modern practices like containerization, serverless computing, and Infrastructure as Code.
      • Drive the roadmap for DevOps tooling, automation, and scalability improvements.
    • Hands‑On Engineering
      • Build and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable cloud environments.
      • Develop and integrate next‑generation CI/CD pipelines, supporting automated deployments and testing.
      • Implement configuration management, monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure proactive issue detection.
      • Optimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues in real time.
    • Technical Leadership & Collaboration
      • Act as a technical lead and mentor for the DevOps team—review designs, guide implementation, and share best practices.
      • Work closely with engineering and product teams to support new features, releases, and operational improvements.
      • Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and cross‑team discussions to prioritize DevOps initiatives.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
    • 8+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience with AWS cloud.
    • Proven experience leading or mentoring a DevOps team.
    • Deep technical expertise in:
      • AWS services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, Beanstalk, CloudFront, Route 53, Glacier, Lambda, EventBridge.
      • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
      • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git, automation pipelines.
      • Linux administration and scripting: Bash, Python.
      • Security and compliance: ITIL, NIST, SOC2.
      • Monitoring and logging: Grafana, CloudWatch, log analysis.
      • Messaging/queueing systems: SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, SES.
    • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
    • Experience with serverless architectures.
    • Ability to design infrastructure from scratch and scale existing platforms.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability to new technologies.

Compensation & Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position.  The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $135,000 - $150,000.  In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.  The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position.  Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location. 

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes three weeks of paid vacation per year; paid holidays; a 401(k)-retirement plan with employer matching; health, dental and vision insurance; and other supplemental benefits.
