You’ll be an individual contributor Software Engineer (everyone at Callidus is a doer). Expect to: Be responsible for our Microsoft Azure infrastructure and deployments.. Ensure high uptime across our platform. Design, build, and maintain complex backend systems. Engineer reliable, scalable Gen‑AI workflows (hybrid RAG, agents, chains of thought, etc.). Collaborate daily with lawyers and Product to ship measurable user value. Uphold code quality, security, and performance through reviews and automated tests. Help guide the organization to a reliable production environment with proper staging and beta environments. This includes valuable insight into the proper ways to produce a deployment environment without interruption. Enforce a security focused environment with proper key management, SOC2 compliance, and proper log and storage management. Qualifications Core Requirements Strong DevOps skills on Azure (or AWS/GCP/VertexAI with quick ramp‑up). Backend engineering in Python. Database management, architecture, and backend engineering experience. Asynchronous Task Management: Experience with job queue and task orchestration systems such as Celery, Redis Queue (RQ), or similar solutions for managing background processing, scheduled tasks, and distributed workloads in production environments. Ability to commute to Dallas office ~4-5 days per week. Soft Skills Clear, concise communication—low words : insights ratio. Ownership mindset: You do what you say and surface risks early. Ability to work well with ambiguity and low amounts of process. Excellent problem solving capabilities. Passion & Dedication Genuine excitement for AI and building category‑defining products. The Cloud Engineer III - DevOps primary focuses on utilizing and building code to enable automation, visibility, and reliability maturity for QTS' infrastructure and applications. This role will utilize state of the art technology to deploy, automate, manage, and troubleshoot all of QTS' Technology Infrastructure. As part of an Agile team, this role will work cross departmentally on enterprise wide technology projects in support of QTS' ongoing digital transformation goals. This role requires a broad understanding of various technologies and the ability to think creatively and use advanced problem solving skills to create innovative solutions to any QTS technology problem - to include Data Center Infrastructure Management, Technology Operations, Service Delivery Platform, and Enterprise IT. This position requires skills, motivation and experience to serve as a member of a highly functional team to deliver superior, predictable and reliable services in a dynamic IT service provider environment. RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned. Streamline automation, visibility, and reliability improvements for QTS technology. Able to work across multiple programming languages, third party tools and integrations, and software and hardware Establish and meet SLOs on reliability for QTS products and infrastructure Ensure that operational technologies are integrated within QTS monitoring tools to increase visibility of potential issues to proactively reduce risk and & maximize the availability of IT infrastructure & services while improving Mean Time to Restore during outages Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve external customer and QTS Systems issues Facilitates meetings to determine feature design requirements from stakeholders Supports organizational change management by providing platform training Supports platform roadmap planning Manage vendors and evaluate new technologies Develop platform for end users using automation tools Plan and document MOPs and engineering standards. Manage lifecycle of assigned devices and provide associated budget inputs Evangelize and implement an "automation first" mindset. Brief executives regularly on improvements Research issues using multiple sources as needed; take direction as needed to quickly resolve high severity issues Work cross-departmentally on technology problems that digitally transform QTS Proactively analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities. Create/update infrastructure documentation to include environment technical diagrams, workbooks, etc. Write/update or review Change Requests, MOPs, and similar documentation. Provide training and mentorship to Level I and II Cloud Engineers BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience Seven or more years of progressive IT Engineering experience Experience with OS systems (Linux and/or Windows) and virtualization technologies (VMware) Advanced knowledge of Python, Ansible, PowerShell, and/or JavaScript/JSON/REST API Advanced ability to write infrastructure as code and manage updates to associated playbooks and code repositories via best practice Agile and release management Proficient ability to deploy, upgrade and migrate complex private cloud environments according to best practices using current versions of VMware vCenter Server and ESXi Proficient understanding of BGP peering, HSRP and IP subnetting Proficient understanding of SNMP, SMTP, DHCP, DNS Proficient understanding of container technologies (etc., Docker, Swarm, etc.) Proficient understanding of CI/CD and orchestration tool(s) in support of code testing and automation (Jenkins, Chef, Ansible Tower) US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Six or more years of Systems Engineering experience, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and Platform Engineering Prior experience working in a Data Center environment One of more systems-focused certifications (VCP-DCV, MCSA/MCSE, RHSE/RHSA, CKA/CKAD etc.) Certification for a relevant DevOps/SRE technology KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to solve multi-faceted complex problems. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills - Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and customers with varied levels of technical knowledge. Requirements

Responsibilities

We want highly talented engineers that want to be hands-on. You’ll be an individual contributor Software Engineer (everyone at Callidus is a doer). Expect to:

  • Be responsible for our Microsoft Azure infrastructure and deployments..
  • Ensure high uptime across our platform.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex backend systems.
  • Engineer reliable, scalable Gen‑AI workflows (hybrid RAG, agents, chains of thought, etc.).
  • Collaborate daily with lawyers and Product to ship measurable user value.
  • Uphold code quality, security, and performance through reviews and automated tests.
  • Help guide the organization to a reliable production environment with proper staging and beta environments. This includes valuable insight into the proper ways to produce a deployment environment without interruption.
  • Enforce a security focused environment with proper key management, SOC2 compliance, and proper log and storage management.

Qualifications

Core Requirements

  • Strong DevOps skills on Azure (or AWS/GCP/VertexAI with quick ramp‑up).
  • Backend engineering in Python.
  • Database management, architecture, and backend engineering experience.
  • Asynchronous Task Management: Experience with job queue and task orchestration systems such as Celery, Redis Queue (RQ), or similar solutions for managing background processing, scheduled tasks, and distributed workloads in production environments.
  • Ability to commute to Dallas office ~4-5 days per week.
