Overview
Job Description
Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join an established technology team and work closely with a senior DevOps Lead. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who has developed a foundation in DevOps practices and is looking to expand their skills while contributing to the day-to-day operation and improvement of the team's development and deployment platforms.
The ideal candidate is sharp, curious, technically resourceful, and eager to learn. We are not looking for someone who needs to know everything on day one. Instead, we want someone who is comfortable digging into problems, asking good questions, troubleshooting issues, and steadily taking on more responsibility.
This role requires working onsite in Woodbridge three days per week.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with the DevOps Lead to support the team's day-to-day DevOps activities and platform operations.
- Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines, with a particular focus on Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, identify root causes, and implement or coordinate appropriate fixes.
- Perform routine administration, maintenance, configuration, and operational support across DevOps platforms and tooling.
- Assist with the management and support of the WSO2 platform and related integrations.
- Use Python for scripting, automation, troubleshooting, and other operational needs.
- Help automate repetitive or manual processes to improve the efficiency of the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues across build, deployment, and integration processes.
- Support development teams when they encounter CI/CD, deployment, environment, or platform-related issues.
- Document processes, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
- Gradually take ownership of additional DevOps responsibilities as knowledge of the environment grows.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 3–5 years of DevOps, infrastructure, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related technical experience.
- Hands-on exposure to CI/CD concepts and tooling, ideally Jenkins.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues rather than simply escalate them.
- Some experience with Python scripting or a similar scripting language.
- Familiarity with administering or supporting development, deployment, or integration platforms.
- Understanding of software development and deployment lifecycles.
- Comfortable working with developers and other technical team members to investigate and resolve issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and environments quickly.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions when necessary.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WSO2 or another API management/integration platform.
- Experience supporting Jenkins in an enterprise environment.
- Exposure to source control and branching workflows such as Git.
- Experience automating manual infrastructure or deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Linux environments, containers, cloud platforms, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
The Right Fit
- This role is particularly well suited for someone who has built a good technical foundation but is still looking to grow into a more well-rounded DevOps Engineer.
- You should be comfortable being given a problem such as "this pipeline is broken—figure out what happened" and working through logs, configurations, dependencies, and other potential causes to determine the solution.
- We're looking for someone who is humble, hungry to learn, and willing to roll up their sleeves. The strongest candidate will not necessarily be the person with the longest list of technologies on their resume, but rather someone who demonstrates technical aptitude, curiosity, ownership, and the ability to learn from a strong DevOps lead.
