Senior Software Engineer DevOps

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

SES has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer, DevOps. You will be part of a team responsible for designing, implementing and supporting solutions in a multi-account AWS organization. This is a hands-on role that creates CI/CD pipeline infrastructure in AWS using IAC (Terraform) to meet business requirements. You will be a crucial working member of multi-disciplinary, highly skilled technical teams fuelled by passion for their problem-solving capabilities and provide high quality technical solutions and services that deliver business value and drive continuous improvement across the organization

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Configuration, debugging, and support for CI/CD infrastructure including Gitlab, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Vault, and other key CI/CD pipeline services
• Implement all changes IAC based cloud presence tools
• Use monitoring tools to proactively troubleshoot issues and drive them to resolution
• Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks where possible
• Design, deploy, and maintain the implementation of cloud solutions in AWS
• Provide operational support to the software development community by responding to support requests
• Document new solutions or changes to existing ones
• Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve critical production incidents

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or related field experience
• Experience writing code in Python, NodeJS, Unix shell and deploying projects in a CI/CD pipeline
• Working knowledge of IAM, VPC, EC2, Route53, S3, Lambda, SES, SQS, and SNS
• Experience with AWS management console and IAC (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Experiencing working in an environment using DevOps CI/CD pipeline automation, Gitlab, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• 5+ Years' experience in administering enterprise cloud services and solutions in AWS
• Understanding of TCP/IP and other networking services: DNS, WINS, DHCP, and Routing

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS

• Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certifications.
• Experience with software testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field experience
• Previous experience in Software Application Development, preferably in the AWS environment
