The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for a DevOps Software Engineer supporting the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at DISA. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of DISA’s operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA’s mission partners. While this role is primarily remote one must live within commuting distance to Scott AFB, IL or Ft. Meade, MD for on-site support. The selected candidate will be a key member of the Special Projects Innovations team, working hands-on with a team of software engineers, and will provide technical expertise in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps and Software Configuration Management in support of the automated and rapid delivery of innovative solutions to a cloud-based environment. Continuously improve the installation, configuration, and deployment processes to make RegScale installs more efficient and repeatable over time Support the RegScale Cyber Security team by implementing required architecture components and policies, responding to incidents, and providing required compliance artifacts. Interface with the development team to support changes, upgrades, enhancements, and new features in the RegScale product runtime or pipelines. Periodically review cloud invoices to ensure cost efficiency and recommend ways to be more cost efficient. Work with the Data team to build and maintain our data analytics architecture. Administer and maintain our cloud-based backup, retention, and disaster recovery tools. Develop and troubleshoot Dockerfiles, deploy containers to our registries, and assist with patching containers Innovate. Be creative. Have fun. Grow. Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certification: Minimum of seven years experience as a Cloud, DevOps, or Systems Engineer or a Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience Desired certifications: Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and/or DevOps engineering and architecture, including Infrastructure as Code Scrum or Project Management Must be a US Citizen and capable of passing a background check and random periodic drug testing If remote, must be willing to travel to the R&D office in Knoxville, TN up to 6 times per year

Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Security, SoPs Due to federal contract requirements, United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph are required for the position. Required: Must be a US Citizen. Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph. At least five (05) years of direct/relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (04) years of additional relevant experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Terraform. Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Batch, and Python. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Discovery (CI/CD). Experience with cloud architecture best practices. Experience with automation (Ansible). Experience with cybersecurity tools, network configurations, and operational tools. Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux, application behaviors, and network traffic analysis Experience in a fast-paced environment and working with flexible customer requirements. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: Developing, deploying, and debugging Terraform Building and deploying applications in Terraform Deploying and managing Kubernetes AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) $125,000 - $220,000 a year The pay range for this job, with multi-levels, is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
