In this role, you will secure software and applications that power the worldwide real estate market. Work with 1,000+ software, QA, and operations engineers to secure applications during design, development, and production. The candidate will utilize threat modeling, white box application security analysis, and grey box penetration testing. This position will collaborate with software development teams, DevOps, and security to drive and shape the way our employees and engineers build, deploy, and operate applications. This position is located in Arlington, VA or Richmond, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday. Responsibilities Conduct penetration tests on web applications and underlying infrastructure for vulnerabilities using both manual and automated techniques Demonstrate risk of detected issues to both technical and non-technical audiences Work with the software and product teams to help ensure applications are designed and implemented securely during the SDLC Consume a variety of application security tools (DAST, SAST, SCA, Credential Scanning, IAC scanning) to secure web applications during development and production run-time Utilize sustainable methods to automate finding feedback to generate developer work items and trigger re-scan when associated work items are closed Recommend code changes to eliminate vulnerabilities Automate security testing at various stages within the CI/CD pipeline Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science/Cybersecurity) A track record of commitment to prior employers 5+ years total experience in a technical role with at least 3+ year of professional experience penetration testing Experience with web application penetration testing, identifying and exploiting attack chains to evaluate the severity of vulnerabilities within a web application Experience writing comprehensive reports that clearly demonstrate the risk of vulnerabilities to developers and technical leadership Experience with defense-in-depth strategies to help mitigate existing risk within applications Experience with common programming language: C# (preferred), Java, C/C++, Python, or Go Scripting/programming skills - Python, PowerShell, GoLang, Perl, JavaScript, .NET, API Integration Security tooling automation in CI/CD pipelines and IDE interfaces including Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Static Application Analysis (SCA) solutions such as Veracode, CheckMarx, AppScan, X-Ray, Synopsys, or Snyk Dynamic application security testing (DAST) through Metasploit, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Acunetix, etc. Industry relevant professional certifications such as: Offensive Security Web Assessor (OSWA) / Expert (OSWE) Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) / Experienced (OSEP) Hack the Box Bug Bounty Hunter (CBBH) / Web Exploitation Expert (CWEE) Hack the Box Penetration Testing Specialist (CPTS) / AD Pentesting Expert (CAPE) INE Security Web Application Penetration Tester eXtreme (eWPTX) Those certifications can be substituted with considerable experience in CTFs, impressive CVEs, or impressive bug bounty reports. What You’ll Do:

As a Software QA Tester, you’ll be at the center of ensuring that every product release meets our high standards for quality and performance. You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, and automation engineers to deliver a smooth and reliable user experience.

  • Test and validate: Execute manual test cases to identify defects, verify functionality, and confirm that products meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product and Development to understand requirements, clarify expected outcomes, and ensure test coverage aligns with user needs.
  • Document and track issues: Clearly record test results, defects, and steps to reproduce, ensuring efficient communication and follow-up with the dev team.
  • Contribute to strategy: Participate in test planning, design, and improvement discussions to refine our QA processes.
  • Bridge manual and automated testing: Work closely with automation testers to identify test cases for automation and continuously improve efficiency.
  • Support CI/CD efforts: Use GitLab to deploy, test, and validate builds in our cloud environments.
  • Drive quality: Share insights and advocate for process enhancements that improve release reliability and user experience.

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience

  • ISTQB or similar testing certification (preferred, not required)
  • Hands-on experience executing and analyzing test automation frameworks
  • Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries (MySQL or similar)

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with container frameworks (Docker) and Unix/Linux shell
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as GitLab or Bitbucket
