Harmonia is providing Agile testing services and IV&V services to provide release/configuration management support. The goal of this work is to validate that the software delivered by the Program’s development team meets FEMA’s non-functional requirements. The overall scope of these services includes the Program’s target solution. Harmonia uses government and industry best practices to: Provide an integrated compliance team for release/configuration management services. Independently verify that the Program’s target solution meets documented requirements. Validate that the Program’s target solution meets user needs. Position Description: Harmonia is seeking a QA Tester to support the Grants Management Modernization (GMM) program by performing Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), ETL testing, SQL queries, Data Migration Testing, and Test Design and Execution services. This role is critical to ensuring that the software solutions delivered to FEMA meet rigorous non-functional requirements, user expectations, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in Agile environments, a deep understanding of software quality assurance, and a passion for ensuring that mission-critical systems are reliable, compliant, and user-centric. Responsibilities: Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V): Conducting independent testing to ensure the Program’s target solution meets FEMA’s documented requirements and non-functional standards. Validating that delivered software solutions align with user needs and compliance expectations. Release & Configuration Management Support: Collaborating with the integrated compliance team to support release and configuration management activities. Assisting in maintaining quality control throughout software release cycles. Database & SQL Testing: Writing, optimizing, and executing complex SQL queries across platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). Performing validation and reconciliation of data across multiple environments. ETL Testing: Testing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, ensuring data pipelines and data movement between systems meet business and technical requirements. Validating data flows, transformations, and accuracy across integration points. Data Migration Testing: Designing and executing test cases based on data mapping documents. Identifying and resolving mismatches, missing records, and transformation logic issues. Supporting the full data migration lifecycle, including profiling, cleansing, migration, and validation. Test Design & Execution: Creating detailed test scenarios and scripts aligned with mapping and transformation rules. Performing reconciliation testing between different data sources and target systems. Documenting defects, tracking resolutions, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Agile QA Practices: Participating in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to align testing activities with development cycles. Continuously improving testing approaches using industry best practices. Requirements: Strong Database Skills: Hands-on experience with SQL in different database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL etc). Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for validation and reconciliation. ETL Testing Experience: Good understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data movement between systems. Experience validating data flows and transformations against business and technical requirements. Data Migration Testing Expertise: Strong ability to work from mapping documents to design and execute test cases. Proficiency in identifying data mismatches, missing records, and transformation logic issues. Familiarity with full data migration lifecycle (data profiling, cleansing, migration, and validation). Test Design & Execution: Ability to create test scenarios and scripts based on mapping and transformation rules. Experience executing reconciliation testing between different data sources and target systems. Strong defect management and documentation skills. Position Description:

Harmonia is seeking a QA Tester to support the Grants Management Modernization (GMM) program by performing Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), ETL testing, SQL queries, Data Migration Testing, and Test Design and Execution services. This role is critical to ensuring that the software solutions delivered to FEMA meet rigorous non-functional requirements, user expectations, and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Agile environments, a deep understanding of software quality assurance, and a passion for ensuring that mission-critical systems are reliable, compliant, and user-centric.

Responsibilities:

Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V):

  • Conducting independent testing to ensure the Program’s target solution meets FEMA’s documented requirements and non-functional standards.
  • Validating that delivered software solutions align with user needs and compliance expectations.

Release & Configuration Management Support:

  • Collaborating with the integrated compliance team to support release and configuration management activities.
  • Assisting in maintaining quality control throughout software release cycles.

Database & SQL Testing:

  • Writing, optimizing, and executing complex SQL queries across platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Performing validation and reconciliation of data across multiple environments.

ETL Testing:

  • Testing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, ensuring data pipelines and data movement between systems meet business and technical requirements.
  • Validating data flows, transformations, and accuracy across integration points.

Data Migration Testing:

  • Designing and executing test cases based on data mapping documents.
  • Identifying and resolving mismatches, missing records, and transformation logic issues.
  • Supporting the full data migration lifecycle, including profiling, cleansing, migration, and validation.

Test Design & Execution:

  • Creating detailed test scenarios and scripts aligned with mapping and transformation rules.
  • Performing reconciliation testing between different data sources and target systems.
  • Documenting defects, tracking resolutions, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Agile QA Practices:

  • Participating in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to align testing activities with development cycles.
  • Continuously improving testing approaches using industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong Database Skills:
    • Hands-on experience with SQL in different database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL etc).
    • Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for validation and reconciliation.
  • ETL Testing Experience:
    • Good understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data movement between systems.
    • Experience validating data flows and transformations against business and technical requirements.
  • Data Migration Testing Expertise:
