Overview
Job Description
Overview
A long-standing name in industrial manufacturing and distribution wants a practical, hands-on Operations and Facilities Manager to steer the everyday running of its warehousing, repair, and facilities areas. Answering to senior leadership, this individual will give reliable operational guidance to a lean group of junior managers and staff, ensure the wider operation ticks along without interruption, and take ownership of the full picture of how the business performs from one day to the next. It is a prominent post that comes with a genuine influence on company direction and clear potential to progress as the firm expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first port of call for facilities management, organising and appointing vendors to resolve building and equipment upkeep.
- Assume responsibility for inventory oversight and management, protecting accuracy, stock availability, and consistent processes.
- Direct the daily running of multiple warehouse sites, taking in goods received and shipped, dispatch, and broad operational output.
- Keep a rounded view of the whole operation, balancing rival day-to-day priorities and ensuring teams stay joined up instead of separated.
- Oversee the on-premises repair function (hydraulic and electrical control-system repair), knowing the process well enough to manage deadlines, standards, and the technical crew without doing the work first-hand.
- Pinpoint areas of operational concern and collaborate with the executive team on remedies and steady progress.
- Lead and follow up with junior managers and staff, keeping the team answerable while maintaining frank, team-oriented dialogue.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Proven flexibility in the face of shifting daily priorities and a clear record of cooperation across teams.
- High school diploma or GED.
- A self-assured, transparent communicator: easy to approach, dependable, and open to input.
- At least five years in operations or general management inside an industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution context.
- A grasp of industrial repair work (hydraulic and/or electrical control systems) strong enough to manage the area.
- Prior experience leading or coordinating across several operational areas or sites.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel) and tested experience on an inventory or ERP system.
Preferred Qualifications
- A practical aptitude for pitching in on hydraulic, electrical, or facilities maintenance directly.
- At least seven years of operations management behind you.
- Master's degree in business management or a comparable discipline.
- Direct familiarity with the ACCTIVATE ERP system (or an equivalent inventory ERP).
- Background in a multi-site industrial, manufacturing, or distribution operation.
