Detailed Description: How Will You Make an Impact?: Interns at Brown and Caldwell make a daily, material impact by completing support duties to advance their team's projects and objectives. They receive professional training and the support of their team. Interns can expect to be onboarded, mentored, and developed by industry leaders to develop real-life skills and make an impact on their assigned projects. As a Summer Intern, you can expect your experience to include the following: Collaborate closely with people managers, project managers, engineers, scientists, and multidisciplinary teams to support projects in water, wastewater, drinking water, environmental engineering, design, sustainability, climate mitigation, and more. Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables including but not limited to calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and memoranda. Potential to participate in field work and site visits to support project design, construction, and data collection activities. Perform data entry, analysis, and visualization to support engineering and scientific evaluations. Ensure quality and accuracy by adhering to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC processes and standards. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to coordinate project tasks and deliverables. Support engineering services during construction by reviewing submittals, conducting inspections, and verifying conformance with plans and specifications. Manage and deliver assignments on time, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills. Complete an Internship Capstone project demonstrating skill development, learning, and accomplishments gained during the summer internship experience. Work schedule and location: Summer Interns with Brown and Caldwell work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week and may have the potential for hybrid work schedules and fieldwork Desired Skills and Experience: What Must Our Candidate Have? (Required) To qualify for an internship, you must be enrolled as a student seeking a degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related field. How Will You Make an Impact?:

Interns at Brown and Caldwell make a daily, material impact by completing support duties to advance their team's projects and objectives. They receive professional training and the support of their team. Interns can expect to be onboarded, mentored, and developed by industry leaders to develop real-life skills and make an impact on their assigned projects.

As a Summer Intern, you can expect your experience to include the following:

  • Collaborate closely with people managers, project managers, engineers, scientists, and multidisciplinary teams to support projects in water, wastewater, drinking water, environmental engineering, design, sustainability, climate mitigation, and more.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables including but not limited to calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and memoranda.
  • Potential to participate in field work and site visits to support project design, construction, and data collection activities.
  • Perform data entry, analysis, and visualization to support engineering and scientific evaluations.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy by adhering to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC processes and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to coordinate project tasks and deliverables.
  • Support engineering services during construction by reviewing submittals, conducting inspections, and verifying conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Manage and deliver assignments on time, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Complete an Internship Capstone project demonstrating skill development, learning, and accomplishments gained during the summer internship experience.

Work schedule and location: Summer Interns with Brown and Caldwell work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week and may have the potential for hybrid work schedules and fieldwork

What Must Our Candidate Have? (Required)

  • To qualify for an internship, you must be enrolled as a student seeking a degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • You must be enrolled for the 2025-2026 academic year and plan to continue in Fall 2026.
  • You also must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Salary Range: The hourly pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
