Assisting with quarterly and year-end tax estimates, ensuring clients are aware of potential liabilities. Preparing workpapers to support tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Following up with clients for outstanding documents and information needed to complete returns. Collaborating with tax preparers and advisors on more complex tax issues as needed. Researching federal, Florida state, and other relevant state tax laws and regulations. Learning and utilizing CCH Axcess Tax and other tax software for data entry and return processing. Preferred technical skills: Basic Tax Knowledge: Basic understanding of individual, partnership, and S corporation taxation. Data Entry Accuracy: Strong attention to detail with experience in manual data entry, minimizing errors during tax return preparation. Understanding the importance of accuracy in tax preparation. Familiarity with Tax Preparation Software: Knowledge of tax preparation software, preferably CCH Axcess Tax. Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Ability to use formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools for organizing and reviewing transaction data. Position overview: The Tax Internship at DiMercurio Advisors plays a critical support role in our mission to empower small business owners through clear, accurate, and timely tax guidance. This position offers hands-on experience in tax preparation, client communication, and practical accounting skills, making it an ideal stepping stone for those pursuing a career in tax and accounting.

Here's what you'll be doing on a typical day:              

  • Preparing individual, partnership, and S corporation tax returns, including 1040s, 1065s, and 1120Ss.
  • Assisting with quarterly and year-end tax estimates, ensuring clients are aware of potential liabilities.
  • Preparing workpapers to support tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Following up with clients for outstanding documents and information needed to complete returns.
  • Collaborating with tax preparers and advisors on more complex tax issues as needed.
  • Researching federal, Florida state, and other relevant state tax laws and regulations.
  • Learning and utilizing CCH Axcess Tax and other tax software for data entry and return processing.

Preferred technical skills:
