Objective of the Job:
This position is an industrial maintenance planner responsible for helping develop preventive and predictive maintenance systems to best support Cold Mill Operations strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and where applicable ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
2) Ensure good housekeeping practices are carried out in job areas and grounds.
3) Organize, schedule, and plan "ALL" non-planned maintenance activities for assigned unit that best supports BRS Cold Mill Strategy.
4) Plan "ALL" Cold Mill maintenance activities and preventive maintenance task following proper codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other relevant specifications.
5) Develops BRS Cold Mill CMMS, capturing historical and relevant data to best prepare for future non-planned activities. Is known as SME for assigned unit.
6) Evaluates Cold Mill equipment and determines the need for replacement parts and procures as needed.
7) Works directly and supports all mechanical, electrical, and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive process team.
8) Assist Cold Mill Mechanical Maintenance Process Supervisors in day-to-day activities.
9) Support maintenance teammates with guidance or training to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
Qualifications:
1) Reliable team player with good communication skills.
2) Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed.
3) Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related discipline.
4) Working knowledge of industrial equipment and systems.
5) Knowledge of industrial safety practices including OSHA standards.
6) Experience in reading mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
7) Knowledge of industrial LOTO practices.
8) Knowledgeable and efficient in the use of the proper rigging equipment, including critical lifts.
9) Basic knowledge of Microsoft office systems (word, excel, power point) with Microsoft Project preferred.
10) Basic computer skills required with experience in industrial maintenance systems (CMMS); Guide Ti Maintenance system experience is a plus.
11) High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for a steel mill production area, with extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and dusty/greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environment. Scheduled work hours are day shift Monday through Friday, however additional hours in a week will most likely be required.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise others.
