Job Summary

A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) completes focused assessments, assists in developing care plans, coordinates tests and/or therapeutic procedures, and implements ordered treatments through telephonic and direct patient care. Also, a licensed vocational nurse educates patients in their proper care and treatment, manages medication refills and adheres to medication schedules, and supports and guides unlicensed staff.

Primary Responsibilities

Applies nursing process in care provision.
Collaborates with patients, families, and other disciplines to support and maintain health goals.
Applies clinical insight to facilitate optimal care.
Identifies risk(s) and takes appropriate steps towards maximizing safe outcomes.
Understands and is responsive to patient needs and concerns.

Qualifications

2+ years experience.
Graduate of an approved school of vocational nursing.
Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Texas.
BLS certification.
