Job Description

Site Reliability Engineer II

Bay Area, offices in San Jose · Hybrid · 24/7 FedRAMP Operations · Rotational Shift · Initial Contract till March 27.

KEY REQUIREMENT

This role requires US citizenship and residence on US soil. It sits within a FedRAMP Moderate-authorised environment, so FedRAMP suitability and US-soil-only eligibility are non-negotiable, not preferred.

Eyes on glass. Hands on the pipeline. Real ownership from day one.

This isn't a watch-and-wait monitoring seat. Our client needs engineers who can read a Kibana query at 3am, know the difference between a blip and a breach, and act on it, on a FedRAMP-authorised cloud platform that genuinely can't afford downtime. If you're a couple of years into SRE or cloud support and want your next role to open doors into FedRAMP and GovCloud work, this is a strong place to build that experience.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

·       Real-time monitoring and first-response triage. Across AWS (Commercial/GovCloud) and EKS infrastructure.

·       Log-level root cause investigation. In Kibana and Elasticsearch, you'll actually dig, not just escalate.

·       CVE remediation and STIG hardening. On your patch, within FedRAMP SLA windows.

·       Deployment execution and troubleshooting. Through GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Argo Workflows.

Requirements

·       3+ years in SRE, DevOps, systems administration, or cloud support.

·       Solid Linux administration (RHEL, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu) and comfort with bash/Python scripting.

·       Working knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS, AWS core services, and L4/L7 load balancing troubleshooting.

·       Prometheus, Grafana, and ChatOps-via-Slack experience.

·       US citizenship and US-soil residency, with genuine availability for overnight/weekend rotational shifts. This is non-negotiable.

Benefits

WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM US

·       A defined engagement. Mid-September through end of March, with clear shift expectations up front.

·       Competitive W2 hourly rate. $70–$90/hr, with overnight/weekend shift premium built in, DOE.

·       A genuine reference point. For FedRAMP/GovCloud experience on your CV, and a real stepping stone toward Senior SRE.

·       Real support. From a delivery partner that treats contractors like people, not headcount.
