Inside Machinist

**$120/daily per diem for qualified candidates** $37.50/hr

Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We partner with businesses and jobseekers to place qualified individuals efficiently. Currently, CTS is reviewing resumes for Inside Machinists in Newport News, VA.

Job Description:

• Complete tasks using numerical controlled processes, manual data input, tooling offsets, and conversation controllers.
• Operate manual and CNC machines, such as lathes, mills, horizontal and vertical machining centers, and EDMs.
• Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth mics, and verniers.
• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to all safety protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an inside shop machinist.
• Experience with controllers, such as Fanuc, Siemens, Acramatic, and Cincinnati-Milacron.
• Must have experience with horizontal boring mills that have travel in the range of X – 500”, Y – 250”, Z – 50”, and W – 65”, with turn tables that are 10’ square with a load capacity of 100 tons.
• Must have experience with vertical turning centers that will have tables that are 80” in diameter with a 20 ton table capacity, where the X total travel will be about 160” and Z will have 80”.
• Experience using carbide machining processes.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
• Pass hair follicle test and background check.
• Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces.
• Lift 50lbs without assistance.
• Strong math skills required.

Per Diem OR Dislocation Allowance may be provided to eligible employees to reimburse some or all of the cost an employee might be reasonably expected to incur for lodging, meals, and incidental expenses while traveling out of town for work.
